They all had their moments, and people forget that IV was a pioneer of the system in terms of release dates, so a lot of the system was very new and unpolished. I felt like VI was the best made, however in terms of personal play style, I prefer the "defined" class structure of IV and V.

my favorite old school final fantasy is the original one. ff1 had a classic story and jus set the whole series off with a bang (started off that awesome theme song too). i love all of em, but i'm a fan of the original

I love VI for the sheer fact that it was one of the first SNES games I'd ever played. Still play it to this day, know inside and out.

Actually FF I through VI on the NES and SNES were all awesome. I would have to say my favorite (even out of the entire lot of FF games) would have been FF I on the NES. What It was the first exposure I had to the RPG games, and what blew my mind when I was a little kid is it was a never-ending adventure compared to the other handful of games I had at the time. I recently played a translated copy FF III on the FamiCom, it was also a nice long in-depth adventure that took me back in time to my childhood when I was playing FF I.As a kid I was able to sit down and sample FF IV and VI on my older brother’s SNES as a kid, but never was able to play them through at the time. As a side note: it was not so much that my older brother was hording the SNES, it was because there is a 14-year age gap between us and lived on his own like 150 miles away so I only got to play it when he came home for the holidays and what not.The one I liked least out of the series at that time was FF Mystic Quest, which to me felt like a spin-off of Zelda, Not that I don’t like Zelda it was just that it lost its originality by taking out the battle sequences and turning it into more of an adventure game.

FF V was amazing, it just blew me away with how much i could customize jobs. That being said, ff VI was no slouch either, with a great story, but FF V was just pure gameplay fun and that took the cake for me.

Both Final Fantasy IV and VI had wonderful stories, music and characters and I fell in love with both games. I can't pick a favourite between those two.

I like FFVI the best, I loved everything about it, I only wish you could have used the Magiteck a bit more in the game.I like FFV for the SNES the fan translation, in the GBA version they make the characters talk weird and also get strange portraits.
