Oh, I see...forgot the context of the question. Yeah, plane waves general satisfy the equation: Posted Image, where i is the imaginary unit, k is the wave vector, ω is the angular frequency, and a is the complex amplitude.

You still didn't get the question. Plane waves are a special case. Replace the plane by another geometric form to get the general case.
