I say I would love to play the FF series type RPG action-turned based. Although MMORPGs are awesome too but most good ones require money and there is a lot of people that should not be playing it because of their attitudes. Action games are fun too/

Action! Right there!!!! WHY? Because strategy sucks!! Puzzles ok, action turn based fun, but action is my liking, and so I choose it because I think the only important thing about games is gameplay and fun.

Fallout 1 is still one of my all time favorites, maybe just because you can be a chick gunslinger with power armor.

Well, Diablo is no RPG and Heroes V is more of a strategy game, so I think the best RPG would be something like, if you could alter your character, have more of a choice in the storyline and more freedom in FF games, that would probably be it. But of course, the freedom would have to be something like in Elder Scrolls series, with a way larger world than FF series have. The battle system doesn't matter much to me either way. In RPG's on PC, there isn't much choice for multi-classing as you can't both be a good warrior and a good spellcaster, so in battles, if you're a warrior, you keep exchanging blows using your weapon, and if you're a spellcaster, you keep casting certain spells. In FF, you just give the command but even a warrior can cast spells to a certain efficiency.

Planescape: Torment - I bought this when I was thirteen and it was for pure aesthetic reasons i.e, the case was better than Fallout. I was bored of it and a few years later after playing a lot of RPGs I found the old copy I bought earlier. It blew me away! The level of immersion was the best I have ever seen. The characters were amazing, the story was grand, and I ended up feeling like I was "The Nameless One". Even to this date nothing has lived up to that. Fallout 2 - While Fallout 1 was great this one blew its predecessor away. I guess what sold me on this one more than the first was the scale of the game. F1 took me a day to complete, this one took me a day.... just to get the character I wanted. I was painstakingly involved with my character. Everything had to be perfect.Gothic 1 - I downloaded this game when I thought that being gothic was cool. I was using Kazaa and was searching for the term gothic. I came across this. The sound was missing, the movies were missing, yet I played on. I beat it, I was confused as the ending video would have told me what happened, I didnt know so I went out and bought the game. I ended up beating the game three times, one for each camp. I guess I was most pleased with the amount of realism, I remember dying to a Young Molerat because I thought that it wouldnt do much damage. I died and didnt save earlier. That was fifteen minutes gone. Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven Expansion - This game is not much better than the earlier but it is epic. I remember waiting twenty minutes to install it and spending another fifteen minutes learning that its "realistic". I tried jumping to a lower ledge of Xardas tower and felll to my death. The story was lacking without the expansion but with it, it nearly rivals its former in terms of story.

a good rpg would include editable stats, has a lot of races, class, nice environment what i mean the graphics, user friendly key bindings, and a good story line.

I think above all RPG's need story.... otherwise what role is there really! Baldur's Gate!!!!! Icewind Dale too, although rather weak on storyline, is brilliantly made with good gameplay!!!! too bad Black Isle is gone. XD

I'm a real sucker for genre cross-overs, so I would have to say that System Shock II is right up there for the best rpg. It's only real problem is that its character development consisted entirely of what stats and skills you get, and about two scenes where you actually get to make your own choice. Hopefully Bioshock will have more open-endedness (as Irrational has promised) which would boost it up to favorite game of the past couple years. Have to wait until its released though.... sadly.

Well the Final aren't real RPGs game, they are great, but you don't choose your path, you can't kill the merchant to get the goods for free, you just play an adventure without choice...The Final are adventure games, the Kotor are also adventure games. The bests RPG on PC are ultima underworld I-II & arcanum, next i'll say the might and magic, then neverwinter-night ( depends on the modules ), then baldurs gate

I like turn-based RPGs because they downsize the battles to make room in the budget for storyline additions.
