The gameplay was decent...The storyline was generic, and I REALLY hated the horse. And after a couple battles, the game struck me as repetitive.

I think if anyone found the game dull or repetitive, then they obviously didn't make a connection with the game that is absolutely crucial, and the designers knew it. Some people would just "get" it, and go with it and have one of the most memorable gaming experiences ever... and others would just be bored, see something shiny, and go play with that for a while instead.I see this game as sort of the slow-paced art-house videogame equivalent to the same things in the film industry - the slow-paced art-house indies. It's not really for a massive audience. Same goes with ICO.For my money, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, are 2 of the best games to come out in many, many years. They did what very few games have been able to do - make an emotional connection with the gamer (at least to those gamers who "get it"). Shadow of the Colossus, I'll never give that game up. It's one of my all time favorites. Even if it is a very flawed game with at-times frustrating controls... It's innovative, it's a new experience, it's brilliant, and well-executed. I was blown away.

Shadow of the Colossus is NOT for the gamer that takes things for granted. The Horse takes a little getting used to but I didn't find it too terribly difficult to control. Actually I felt like it behaved like a real horse in many respects. A real horse isn't going to do everything you want it too. I can't see how anyone could think that fighting the Colossai got repetitve. Each one was pretty unique and the cool thing about it is that not only are they an enemy that you fight but each Colossai acts like a living puzzle. Just figuring out how to kill the monster is taken to a new level. I found this game to be extremely inovative. Some may not like it because it doesn't have a lot of glam but it's a very deep game and I think that's what's missing from most games today.

The experience of one of those massive, hulking, ancient things seeing you, and coming toward you... That's a rush, right? And how the HELL do you take one down?? You're a dude, with a freakin sword and a bow-and-arrow... And yet somehow you're able to pull it off, again and again, each colossus drastically different than the last. And they're all so spectacular... The two flying ones particularly. It really does blow me away, just remembering that game. They pulled off something very special there.

Poor horse, somehow it's invincible to a 100000 ton monster crushing it but falling off a cliff will hurt it :(

I beaten the game many times and I never get bored of it. Feeling the sense of accomplishment when beating a Colossus and the great enviroment that is so large and yet makes you feel so small, Gotta luv it.:P

I did, and i beat the game ^-^but now, im trying to find another ending to this game. The graphics and stuff were great, but there's just one problem....... THEY LEFT THIS PLACE EMPTY EXCEPT FOR RUINS, LIZARDS, AND BIG PITFALLS.The scenary of the place makes up for the emptyness of the land though.
