I'm sure I am but it'll only be after it has got quite cheaper, if u ask me PS3 sure rocks and willdefinetly have the right games to back it up but even like that i don't think any console can justifythat price even if it can levitate through the air and across the room to reach your hands. Everything is getting more expensive but the rise in console prices is unbelievable. Who wouldpay something like that or even half of it in the past for psx. The materials they use haven't changed tosuch a degree and they still produce their consoles in countries like taiwan that the cost of one PS3 to beproduced is the money u'd give for a coffee! Can't they reason with something less than 200% gain? Get out of here!!

ok everyone read the fallowing it will help you understand about the price and the system of ps3 :How much will the PS3 cost? Well, according to the latest issue of Japanese magazine Toyo Keizai, the new PlayStation 3 console from Sony will go for around $399. However, its looking like the console will cost Sony approximately 54,000 yen ($494) to make! Yes, the first year of PS3's release would be a money loosing affair for Sony, who is expected to sell each PS3 at the price of 44,800 yen ($410) in Japan and $399 in America. This works out at about 130 billion yen ($1.18 billion) in losses for Sony during that year. However, it’s common for game companies to take a loss on hardware whenever a new console launches, making everything back in later years when savings are made from mass production and with licensing fees from publishers. But there may be other problems in store. Merrill Lynch Japan warns that the normal console business cycle may be disrupted if Microsoft cuts the Xbox 360's price when the PlayStation 3 launches. The report goes on to say that such a move could hurt Sony's plans, bringing an additional loss of 80 billion yen ($730 million) in its second year and 50 billion yen ($457 million) in its third year. Thus far, Sony has already invested 200 billion yen ($1.83 billion) into development and production for the Cell chip alone.so i think it is better to buy it when it first comes out, because they may never dicrease the price

Nope, I just don't have the funds. I highly doubt I'll buy one even when it's cheaper, as the Wii and the DS have higher priority on my list.

Well in my view, I'll wait till it gets cheaper! IT's way to expensive for myself to afford as a student. And if I was to go to work, I would still not buy it. Like you get your paycheck and its a part time job. Well your gonna be saving alot of paychecks for the ps3. Also wasting all that time for the ps3? I would rather buy lots more junk than pay that price. Ps3 is good and all. But I'll just wait 2 or 3 years.
