It's like this. Dragon quest is much more famous in japan and final fantasy is famous in america... probably because of the over rated final fantasy 7. Sooooooo many RPG fans are missing out on the coolest RPG that has akira toriyama's famous character designs (Dragon ball anyone?) and monster designs other than chrono trigger. But it's obvious why so many american RPG fans don't want good old fashion RPG that dragon quest delivered is because they hardly knew akira toriyama and only want what the over rated final fantasy 7 delivered.

okay well i think that you should exclude FFx and X-2 since they werent what they should have been in my opinion(they didnt have the earlier or later feel to them)

FFX, I just loved the story and yes even the characters.Even the annoying ones.It was just such an ejoyable expireience.

I liked FFX. in DRagon quest..i couldn't get over the fact it look like dbz.. hated that show.

No contest, ffX hands down. I cant stand the animation they have for dragon quest 8 let alone the game gets so wicked easy. plus the animation in DQ8 annoyed the hell out of me, too cartoony. then again i hate anything that the dragon ball artist does (i heard it was him who designed the charectors).

I have played both and to tell you the truth there isn't much between them.The graphics in Dragon Quest are really something, everything in this game just looks so damn good and the battles they aren't that bad neither.I would have to say Final Fantasy X because i've be a long time final fantasy fan and because the graphics in this one are really good and also because this game has Blitzball, which i love.

DQ8 had story, good system and completely revamped the battle system in DQ (You can see yourself now!).But FFX wins because of blitzball and ONLY blitzball.

I think both are very nice. Of course FF X is great for almost everything, but Dragon Quest is a lovely story, nice characters, and cool graphics. So which one is the best, I think it's your choice

I prefer Dragon Quest VIII. First of all because it was my first DQ Game and the characters are designed by Akira Toriyama, so... can't go through it.

In my opinion, FFX is better, after all it is my favourite game. But DQVIII is still a very good game that I thoroughly enjoyed, it provides a very long main storyline.

I like Dragon Quest more simply because its a different RPG and to me its more challenging. I could easily get my characters to do over 10,000 damage and kill enemies no sweat

Final Fantasy X because the graphics is more of my style than Dragon Quest. I love the final fantasy series' fmv.
