I think its cool the way things look sorta 3d, but I agree that the graphics need to change. I think graphics more in the style of Gale of Darkness would be a refreshing change!

I think Diamond/Pearl is shaping up to be pretty freakin' good, though I have one trivial complaint: the battle layout.The layout of us seeing the back of our Pokemon facing the front of another, with no real animations and no backgrounds or anything is so OLD and outdated. You'd think we would have seen a little sumthin' sumthin' on Ruby/Sapphire, or the further updated Emerald, or whatever it was called. And yet, even on the DS which fully supports good 3D graphics on an immense RPG (hello FFIII), I see pictures of the battles and they remain the same as the Pokemon from 1998.the end.

I like most of the new features that have been unveiled. I like that they've kept the same basic graphics. It's a Pokemon hallmark. The battle mechanics are good, but I feel like it's a cheap way to take advantage of the dual screens. Does anyone know how many new pokemon are supposed to be in the new game?

Diamond and Pearl are compatible with all the GBA Pokemon games.i was hoping that u trade your pokemon from your old version on to it

i know this may*well it does* sound dumb but i think it'l be kinda cool if pearl and diamond has a WiFi thing, becuase to me its realy annoying the fact that u could have a bunch of stonge pokemon, but no one to play against. so i think they should make a WiFi for it*if they havent alredy*pokemon is getting old...same gameplay over and over

the wifi and being able to bring in your old pokemon has to be the best things.

If you've been around to IGN or Gamespot in the last day or so you would have heard some new info about diamond and pearl. The official pokemon site has some screens. I'm disappointed to say, the graphics at first glance look only marginally better than the GBA games (which themselves were only marginally better than the GBC games). Theres a new 3Dish viewpoint which looks sort of neat, but from what i can see it still uses small crappy sprites on a system capable of far more, and most dissapponting, the battles, from what i can gather from the screens (this mightn't be 100% certain but it looks that way), look to have no pokemon animations. Now IF this is the case, which i am inclined to believe it is, this is very disappointing. If anyone thinks of the excuse of cart space, don't bother. N64 Pokemon games had full 3d pokemon animations, on less cart space than a DS game. Golden Sun, a launch GBA game, is looking like having better graphics than a DS game due in the third wave of big titles. All that being said, the game still sounds awesome and I will buy it, but I fail to see why Pokemon consistently lags behind the rest of the gaming universe in technology. I bet they still use the same crappy pokemon noises from pkmn red >>>___

I think the pokemon people are getting lazy. By revising their code and saying "DS Edition" or w/e they think(rightly) that every pkm fan will buy it thinking "W0007 this must be 50000x better than the last one, i've gotta have it to show off to my friends" and they all buy it and it gets old in 2 days, not to mention that it wasn't any better than the previous, just barely acceptable by any human standards.Too bad we can't have a lynching to fix this problem

DPs can be spent by using some platform-specific DPs and some global DPs.

I dont much like posting on forums... but Im really bored and really sorry if somebody already shared this.Info from the official Pokemon website of Japan (translated) ... too bad... that was 6pgs tooOne things for sure... that Anubis looking one is bad donkey.***Ooh wow they changed the page... well at least we now know it comes out September 28th in Japan and has some sweet looking legendaries on the front.the new page

its gonna be wifi? FINALLY. i have wanted to see that feature in a pokemon game for ages. and when i say ages i mean since wifi was introduced, or when i remember first hearing about it actually but whatever. i just hope that with the whole being 3-d based thing they dont mess up the chaarm the 2-d games had. it might be because i love sprites but i don't think the 3-d will work out well. at least not like on the gamecube games.

Multiplayer aspect is gonna make this game a lot more enjoyable. Yet they really have to make some very big changes and throw in some innovation for it to be excellent. The first pokemon game may have been a success but u can't expect it to just repeat a million types just changing the graphics for the better. And to just think NDS touch screen offers the Pokemon series, like a million of possible changes to the game to make it more fun!

While the overworld graphics of this game look like very misformed Fire Red/Leaf Green graphics, it is a new Pokémon game to enjoy. ^^
