I'd have to say that THE most difficult game (or ROM, in this case) I have have ever played would have to be Monster party for the NES. I just can't beat many of the bosses in that game. Monster Party is a REALLY messed up game, that has a lot of stuff in it that's really-freaking-WRONG. For example, in the first level, two enemies you encounter are people on fire, XD and limbs sticking out of the ground. :shiftyninja: Everything in the first level looks fairly happy (other than those two things), until you pass the half-way point, and everything goes to Hell in a way you wouldn't beleive. (and I don't mean literally, Hell.) Anyways, ya. I'd say Monster party. I stopped playing it due to the impossible bosses, and the fact that the game is just REALLY messed up.

I can't relly remember but recently(current gen) it would have to be F-Zero GX.

F Zero GX isnt that hard at all! You must suck at racing games or something because that is a pretty easy game. Only the very hard missions in Story mode are challenging!

megaman battle network games are hard for me, since u got to fight so many diffrent things and ur not garenteed to get what u want, and they put u in tight spots, like limiting ur movemens for only 3 spots while they just jump u...

The original metroid. Well, trying to play it on a phone anyways. But still, doesn't seem like it takes much to kill you. Everything does like 30-50 dmg and you start with 99. :X Besides that, facing Sigma at the end of MMX was hard before figuring it out. No grace checkpoint anywhere. :/

easily ninja gaiden for xbox for me. even on its easiest difficulty (which was normal) the game was near impossible to beat. i saw the game over screen so many times there isnt even a number for it. but then i finished it and i felt the bigest sense of accomplishment ever, which made me want to play it more. i think its a stradegy with game makers to do that.put ninja gaiden on the hardest difficulty and u WONT finish it. i cant get past the boss battle at the church.

Has anyone ever played Umihara Kawase on the snes? It is insanely hard, possibly the hardest game ever, but it's also incredably fair, with a real sense of progression. It's really not for everyone, but I've been addicted for the last year :P I'd recomend you check it out.

The answer to this is extremely easy. I've never seen anyone have as much trouble at a game as I have with Kid Icarus for the original 8-bit NES. That game was so freakin tough even to this day I've never beaten the first stage.

This may sound a little lame but I always found a majority of the nes games hard, I don't think I ever beat any games on the Nes, LIke the gaunlet I only get to about level four or five and I die. Still haven't beaten the legend of zelda, sort of got lost on that game. COntra is hard.... I get to like the third level and thats about it. Spy hunter.... I do horrible on that game. I don't even think its possible to beat the games on the nes. Metal slug for the xbox.... my friend and I spent a few weeks trying to beat the last level... man that game is hard too. But I still love metal slug. Ninja gaiden gives me trouble too both on the nes or was it snes one of those and the xbox version have trouble with that. I also have trouble with the tomb raider games cause you run around shooting for a little bit then you spend like two hours on a puzzle. Teenage mutant ninja turtles... those one for the snes we sort of fun I just didn't do well on them. Chrono trigger.... got so far on that game and then got stuck. I also have a tendacy to not notice something and then end up running through the whole level again in the new games to see what I forgot to get. But hey it would be no fun if the games were easy. Man I feel like a noob now...

You're all confused. The answer is so simple even a crazed Dark Ages fan, attached to the most amazing woman in the world, could answer it.Battletoads 2.Either that, or the first encounter with Vile....In Megaman X... POINTS were deducted for this post

I take it no one has played the obscure N64 game that is Superman 64? I would love to see anyone make it past the "training" level, simply because that game is so hard. The second level is confusing and bloated, and superman has very low health. He doesn't do anything when he gets hit either. -_- Try it, and weep at the difficulty of such a game.
