You can pick 4 characters, but they all have the same story. You don't get any teammates, but there is multiplayer. This game is a little different than the previous games. It is more like a dungeon crawler than a story based rpg.

if your a mana fan then its definately worth buying, the dual weapon style is great, and the way of using spirits, plus with the x and y buttons it eliminates the hassle of having to keep going into the menu to use items and such

personally, i liked this game more than sword of mana (the only other mana game i played). the weapon switching rate is much quicker, so are using items. The graphics are much better, and the game plays faster. the multiplayer is great, even if you only have two people.

You have to remember, this isn't Secret of Mana II for people comparing the game to it, it's children of mana. I never played Sword of Mana, but this one definately looks like a win. First game I bought so far to be honest (now I just need a ds lol)

Sounds just like the action RPG I'd hoped for. I've got this on a wishlist and will be trying it out when some extra cash (or proceeds from sales on Ebay) come in.

please dont get this game.i bought it and im now desperatly trying to sell it away.1)you only have 1 town. There's completly no exploration at all.2)The gameplay is very bad.the characters are VERY unbalanced.3)Dungeon crawling is cool and all,but when they're all so generic and base, with hordes and hordes of overpowered enemies, dying becomes too common and destroys what's left of it.4)The game feels VERY stale and old.5)Even the most hardcore fan of dungeon crawling genre games cannot squeeze out more than 5 hours worth of fun.6)touch screen usage is EXTREMELY buggy and causes more problems and hassle as compared to NOT using the touch screen.you could tap a button on the touch screen and the system reads another button for more than half the time.this is NOT a problem with the screen but with the game: i had no problems with my Age of Empires.you have been warned.
