Maybe the mouse could be the Wiimote, and to make sure random crap doesn't happen, you hold the mouse button to make it work!

it would probably suck because it would probably use the mouse as a controller, and that would be glitchy.but it might work if you connect your wiimote via its bluetooth capabilities...all you would need is a bluetooth box and a controller ^_^

There are already applications that can take the wiimotes bluetooth signals and emulate them. that takes care of that problem...now they just have to get the emulation working...

Emulating a Wii probably isn't much harder than emulating a GC, but getting the controls right would be challenging I'd say.

I know that they are people who have integrated the Wiimote to their PCs, but I doubt that people will be able to make a substitute for the actual Wiimote (or at least a substitute that you would not have to buy). Maybe something like the patch for GBA for Wario Ware Twisted that substituted the arrow keys for the movement of the GBA. That would take away pretty much all of the fun from the games though... but it would be a start?Like some people have said here before, I dont think its THAT much more complex than the GC or PS2 (not that those are simple to emulate). Maybe once those emulators are perfected there will be hope for a Wii emulator, but the issue of not having to buy a Wiimote still stands.I dont think that the Wii could ever be completely reproduced on a PC, but maybe in 3, 4, 5 years we might see some emulators that take a good stab at it.

a workin emulator for wii i think is a bit too much to expect and even if they could port the original controller to use it on the pc as the console it would not be interesting due to extra pieces of hardware (sensor bar) that would be needed

How would it work with a keyboard and mouse. The wii dosent just sence the point where the cursor touches the screen it also dectects the distance from it and then theres the nunchuck. I dont think it would be very good. :s

The sensor option could be done with the mouse but look even today the ds emulator isnt really working so think about the wii.

Wii Emulation may not happen for many years. GameCube and PS2 emulation isn't even perfect yet. Also, emulating the Wii Remote and Nunchuk with the mouse may seem a bit hard. The best idea for Wii Remote and Nunchuk emulation would have to be to connect it to the computer somehow, which has been done, then attach the sensor bar to the computer. That would be difficult as you would have to emulate the Wii Menu and system stuff as well.

Too early to think about a Wii emulator. It would be really hard to implement motion sensing onto a computer. Sure they have done pretty well with DS emulators and touch screen and so on, but imagine that size for Wii games.

Not long, a few years maybe. People already connected wii remote, nunchuk and everything to a computer, and did many things with it. A wii emulator would only take time since they dont know how the game's DVDs work and how to decript them. The sensor bar is also no problem since it has no sensors, only a few Infrared LEDS, you can use your wiimote as a pointer and a mouse on your computer for quite a while already. It's just a matter of time.

Seems like every other poster has not read any posts prior his own. You don't have to emulate mote, because you can just install drivers for it with a normal bluetooth dongle and use it as a pc controller.I'd estimate it takes 5 years before working WiiEmu.

People at Nintendo aren't stupid. When they created the DS and the Wii they had the goal in mind to create consoles impossible, or very hard, to emulate. And even if that's possible, the experience will suck so much you'd regret not buying the Wii.So yeah, for now, no real way open. However, our imagination is short and every mouse has a hole and we'll find it. For all we know it might be possible with Bluetooth mouses or something.

i don't think is possible in the next few years, and it is not even going to be close to the real thing. In order to emulate it correctly it would take at least 7 more years
