i like cloud a lot better, his past is much more interesting, and his game kick's squall's donkey. and squall is such a whiny brat. plus he fell for rinoa....that's just sad.

These Cloud vs Squall polls are worthless. There is no way to find which one is better, its all based on opinion and there is no way to prove your theory unless you had a game were it had Cloud and Squall in it and they were evenly matched.

I agree that the supporting who would win in a fight is a little pointless and well, damn stupid in my opinion! So I'm gonna access what I think most people who makes these topics think about. And thats the characters themselves.While I think Squall is better introduced (how he got the scar is a good piece of introduction), I felt Cloud was far more believeable and people could symphathise with him. He's screwed up in the head unlike Squall, who just has a girl thats screwed up in the head 
I do think Squall's character design is better, since he has the scar and the cool neckchain, but this isn't a saving grace for him in my opinion. Cloud!

Cloud's limit is Omnislash. They do about the same if their both at level 100, thogh its hard to tally all the damage.

in coolness...cloud(cuz hes blonde and i mblonde and blonde's hafta stick together) but in an all out battle sqaull would win due to he can use devour ability to make all his stats like 999(it'd take months of work but my squall has 600 something Strength and 300 something for his defense statistics and i got his speed to 400 something using devour as well(actually the devour thing can be used on any charecter in FF8)

CLOUD! unless squall plans to use that little sissy pistol ( not that im saying squall isn't an awesome character with freaking sweet sword selection) but whats he gonna do? shoot cloud down with his gun? IF he avoided doing that, it would be a pretty good match.
