I voted for Cloud, because I really don't know Squall very much. I think Cloud is twisted enough for me.

Definitely Squall. One of the big issues I had with FF7 was Cloud's constant whining and brooding about his past and such. He was such a "tortured" individual over stuff that wasn't that big a deal at all. Squall had a bad attitude but at least he was able to change and become less brooding over the course of the game.Stevo

i think they the same on both games they defeated fearsome enemys and they have some similiar moves

I prefer how Squall look... and even if it's an actual battle Squall would probably win since all the characters in FF8 can so easily be overpowered.

Squall would probably win in a fair battle, since his blade is just too good. Cloud, however, is more of a hero. I'd much rather play as Cloud than Squall.
