I text a good bit. Almost every day at school, I've probably sent 2-3 texts. Most of the time just to my parents letting them know if I forgot something like lunch money, etc...

i used to not do it, cuz it was like 10cents per text on my plan. Then my provider started charging for incoming texts. Now that i got a new phone plan (with 2500 in/out text), i use it a lot =) its so much more convenient

I text all the time because most of my conversations are pretty private. I wouldn't want random people overhearing what's being said and I'm sure they wouldn't want to know about all the personal details either haha

I mostly text. Some people dont want to be bothered by a phone call, so sending a text is more convenient.Unless its your girlfriend/boyfriend...then you should give them a call lol.

I text a ton with my girlfriend. I really like the text message cause its less envovled than a phone call and it can be done in boring situations where you aren't really allowed to talk on the phone like class or lame parties.

i like text messaging, you can always get a message to somebody and they can answer on there own time. I do it with some friends, some sisters, not all the time, i call also, but then i talk to long and that is to expensive.

I only text when I want to tell my parents something but it isn't urgent. I also text my friends sometimes if i am someplace and bored. I don't text much though.

No. I have AIM for that, and it's not as expensive. if I want to talk to my friends, my voice will suffice.

I always text. It's discrete. I can do it without looking at the screen, so I'm never caught doing it when I'm not suppose to be.

I don't. First of all it's not on my plan and I just don't feel like doing it some times.

I HAVE to text message. It is almost the only form of communication used in my country. Apparently, people don't talk anymore, they just text each other.

I do not send text messages. I have never needed to do so. I have used messaging services and stuff like that, but never on a phone. Also, I just couldn't bring myself to use that shorthand in everyday life. It would kill my thumbs, but I prefer to use full sentences and proper spelling.

How can you not text?! It's a quick and easy way to communicate with someone who is not right next to you. When you ring them, they may not be home. when you IM them, they may not be on a computer. When you text someone, it's there until they read it. LOL

I'm pretty sure I text like all the time. It's the generations way of communication these days. There's like 4 year olds out there who know how to use a computer and text. It's kinda gross.. but **** happens. =)

I don't mean to ramble but I have strong feelings on txting and here they are. I would rather call up someone and say meet me at so and so in less than a minute rather than press fifty uckin buttons 1 to 3 times each. and I've even heard multiple woman say they think txting I luv u or other little stupid $[!+ like that is more romantic than a bouqet of flowers and an I love u in person when did real heartfelt emotion become so damn obsolete sorry if anyone is offended with my opinion or langauge. Also what if someone isn't even being serious when u think they r or u think they're joking around when they're not and you can't tell because you can't hear the emotion in their voice so it's like talking to a robot. And you might come back with thats what lol's r for but I know quite a few people who refuse to put things like that and still joke around and txt other stuff thats hard to comprehend. I still txt but only when in public and it's a converstion I don't wnat every one to hear, the other person doesn't have minutes, or when I don't have minutes but get unlimited txt which I still don't like to do I'd rather wait until 9 or the weekend to roll around to make a call. But I do relize it can be usefull but for the most part I just don't think it's my kinda thing.

I text constantly. It's been an addiction. I think that people are against texts in here because they might not have had a texting plan before. Most texting plans are cheaper than phone plans and therefore people tend to lean towards that side of the connectivity more. I do think that texting is pushing people more and more away and driving society into a lack of face to face communication but only for those that overuse it. Texting does have many uses and it is a quick way to notify someone of something of importance. You can't always rely on someone to pick up their phone, but you're guaranteed that they will get your text.

I hate texting. It takes too long communicating in that way. I only talk unless I'm running out of minutes in which case I'd have to text. Or otherwise, if they are good friends, I would just text them to call back.
