you should get the lite because i had the regular and it broke by falling on the carpet of my floor.my friend still has his but he says it's to big and fat to be a handheld so he got a psp(though i never see him use it alot only when he bored).the ds lite battery lasts for about 2 days and the normal ds last for 2 1/2 days ds lite is more sturdy and has better gigabyte storage(has to do with graphics)one more thing GET THE DS LITE IT WILL LAST LONGER!!!!!!!!!

i have regular DS and its not too big. i actually played regular gameboy and even thats not big. ds isnt big at all imo.

Now for a simple comparison, notice the names. DS (dual screen, which is just fine and dandy) and DS Lite (Which is the DS, with 3 most notable change, and alot of smaller ones.) Firstly, the Lite, as the name suggest, comes with an on board light for night time gaming, of a dark room, which lets say the GBA had problems with. Secondly, the name again suggests this notice, the Lite is Lighter, much lighter. the DS is almost twice the weight of the DS lite. The Third, and not suggested by the name, is the software improvements. It is MUCH (yes in bold) easier to set up a Wifi or wireless connection with DS lite, than the conventional DS. As well, it comes with an on board software called pitochat (I KNOW THATS NOT THE ACTUALLY NAME, SAME DIFFERENCE GUYS) which you can chat with others in your area, without even opening your mouth. Just with a few swings of your stlyis.

YOU SHOULD 100% get a regular because the bar that joins the top half with the botton half of a DS lite is just to little joins so its REALLY easy to break while a regular's bar is a LONG bar connecting it so it has 3 times the support of a DS lite!

I have had my DS for years my sister got a DS lite and the hingeGot trashed and the top came off and she only had it for two months. so get a regular !

The DS lite is better, as its the same price as the regular DS, but it looks much better. There are now many colours to choose from as well.

I got my ds before the lite came out and i'm pretty happy with it, although it would be better if it was nearly as bright as the lite. Also, the placing of the power switch is better on the lite. Many times i've accidently pressed the power switch instead of start and lost my game progress. :rolleyes:I've not tried the lite, but i know a few people who have them and they all say that they're not as comfortable to hold.

I traded my DS for a DS lite. Best trade ever. THe change was apparent. Brighter screen, less bulky, VERY lightweight. Now my pants fall down when it's in my pocket

I would tell you to get a regular NDS. The DS Lite has many new features, granted, but it depends on what kind of gamer you are. If you like to take advantage of the backwards compatibility for the GBA, get the regular DS, because when using the DS lite, the game pak always sticks out. You also have to keep track of that rubber protective thing for the GBA slot in the DS lite because the slot is alot shorter and thus it is easier for dust to get in. And yes, i know the DS lite has a much brighter screen, but sometimes when my battery is running low on my DS, i just turn off the light and go old school playing under a lamp. For the DS Lite, it's just bright and brighter. I also like the regular DS because it is bigger, more room for hands to control, not fumbling with smaller buttons and the like.

The lite has better screens and is a bit smaller. The backlight can be really bright, which comes in handy when u need a flashlight in a pinch, something the normal DS isnt so great at...

yeah, I just have a regular DS, and it's fine, but I want a Lite for the brighter screens. and indeed, I have an R4 card. great investment. And easy to find here in China, where I'm teaching English to schoolkids.
