I would get the DS Lite as it is not so bulky as the older DS adn is much much more sexy.

its such an easy decision! get the lite! its much more beautiful and the newer generation LCD screens make the older DS look like pure crap!

Well, I'm personaly happy with my regular DS, there's not enough features for me to want to go to DS lite. But since you have nither (As I'm assumeing) I would definetly go for the lite. Since it does have a game I'd like to play in it anyway.

you will feel like ur using old stuff if you buy the normal ds. but, it really doesnt matter, they r both good.

old ds + : cheaper (love that part), could be flashed easily - : biggerds lite + : smaller, brighter, looking better - : can give some trouble with flashing, more expensive*ofc there are more things but this is just a guideline*

THE DS LITE IS OS MUCH BETTER BECAUSE IT'S SMALLER, BRITER (WITH A CHOICE OF 3 BRITNESS TO CHOOSE FROM) IT COMES IN A COOL BLACK COLOUR AND THERI ARE DIFFRENT GAME VERSIONS (POKEMON D/P AND FF3 VERSIONS) IN JAPAN. THE OLD ONES ARE TOO BIG, UGLY DESING TOO HEAVY AND YHE MICROPHONE IS OFF TO THE LEFT

i dunno, think that the old DS is somewhat better. granted, its not as bright, but how bright do you really want it to be anyways? what really matters is that its bright enough to be seen without any discomfort.it is cheaper, although now the price difference isnt that much.i find that putting the mic between both screens is a bad idea. i have seen people misting up their screen because of blowing directly onto the screen instead of the mic.the spring loaded power switch costs more to replace because springs wear out faster than buttons.to date, there are 2 major problems with the DS Lite:IGN has reported that it suffers poor diagonals (meaning you have to press much harder oin the pad to perform diagonals) and the fact that THE TOUCH SCREEN CAN MOVE. Which means long term damage.but of course its not fair to just critisize it non-stop.The DS Lite probably has the best battery power.Wiki reportedthat it can last for 10-14 hours,whereas the DS could last for 6-10.The stylus is longer,which means its easier to use.Its pleasing to the eye. Somehow the glossy white/black exterior finish looks awesome.And of course, brighter graphics, while not that important, is still very welcome.i have the old DS, but if Nintendo will fix those problems with the current DS Lite i see no reason why i shouldnt upgrade to the Lite.

Get a DS regular.I've heard from various places that DS lite has a problem with it's hinges breaking due to being too flimsy or something.... but I'm not sure if that's just for lite or if it's a problem for both systems.

They must cost an arm and a leg though. I bought the DS the day it came out and I'm quite happy with it. I think the Lite is too fidgety.Get a supercard, and you ever have to buy games.

get the lite and look cool!personally, i dont know the diff between the ds and the lite beside the asthetics. but i would go for the lite. the ds looks too bullky in comparison.

Don't wast time asking us this question when you know the only way to go is with a lite - now that it is out you may as well get it instead - it looks tonnes cooler and when you own a ds lite and play on a ds (my brothers) it seems big, clumsy, dull, ajnd the buttons seem bad as well - this was only after I owned a lite - now I wonder why i considered a DS* (for a few minutes)* Not strictly true as I know the reason was price but i think you know what I mean...

It depends how attached you are to your SP or GBA. I am a lot better playing games such as Megaman Zero on the SP. I suck A LOT with the GBA. So in my opinion, the Lite would be better because it is shaped more like an SP than the normal DS. If you play with your GBA more, then get teh original, not the Lite. I got the original, sold it for store credit, and bought the Lite.
Working on Knights in the Nightmare. Going to get around to Rondo of Swords. Hoping to find inspiration for Etrian.

For me I've played with a regular ds and i can't seem to hold it right its uncomfortable.. but then i tried a ds lite and i was fine.. so i dunno I think the ds lite is more comfortable =D

just in case you dont know, Nintendo has dropped production of the regular DS in favor of the Lite since it brings in more $.so those regular DS-es you find in your stores nowadays will just be the old stock.if you still decide to get the regular DS it would be the best time to do so since its prices are going to drop even more.Just dont be surprised or frustrated if support and accessories for the old DS is dropped soon.

I'd prefer an original DS but with the different contrast/brightness settings, I really don't like what they've done with the dpad on the dslite mine is just awful I seem to need to press alot harder than on my original DS - funny but it means i've started using the touchscreen a whole lot more ?

I thing that the normal DS is better, you can see perfectly the images, in the DS lite you must use a magnifying glass and it's not conffortable to use it while you're playing, it makes you an easy joke's target
