Ok we all know that 7 was the best game squaresoft ever made 8 wasnt as good as 7 but still did alright9 was trying to stick with the classic style which is why all characters cept ekio and garnet and different skills they could learn for themselves 10 was a good game for FF introduction to the PS2 but when 10-2 occured it just went to hell from there (starting with the messed up damge system). After X-2 it was rumoured some cheif designers left squaresoft..which would actually explain why 11 sucked so much and 12 may not be as good (it better be good or so help me god)Hopefully final fantasy will redeem itself before it looses to many fans

Hahaha...Wooboy I will agree, everything pass FF8 has pretty much sucked balls. 9 was a interesting idea and worked well but the chibiness of it got old quickly and FFX was another good idea until you ran into the main hero which made you cry from his wimpness, my guesses it will continue to suck until the end of time.

Final Fantasy XII looks like it will revive the series with new blood. And I don't know why every one's hating on Final Fantasy XI's online play. Its a damn good alternative to World Of Warcraft!!

IMO FF8 was better than 7, 10 was decent, 11 was decent for it's genre, just not good compared to the rest of the FF series, 12 will be the revivial of good FF games. 100% positive

8>7?Ummm a game that you can beat at lvl 10 isnt that great of a game...I liked it but it wasnt that great and the story was horribleI have played the Demo for 12... eh at most... i dont like how they tried to take an MMORPG combat style and make it into a console game engine....

I think ff12 is going to be amazing. Its mostly because i heard that it had a lot of success in japan.

I think FFX was the best then it should come FF7 but a lot of people disagree with me on that. Anyways I believe RPG's are supposed to start evolving and that's what they tried in FFXI. Although its not as great as many MMORPG out there many people found it solid. In FFXII we see that they try to implement the battle system from MMORPG and in my opinion is good, I just hated those random encounters every x steps. FFXII looks solid has nice cinematics and well the demo doesn't show much but seems like gameplay is great.

Oh i agree with you Kobyx, I think that Final Fantasy X was best in my opinion. I think that VIII left something to be desired for sure, and VII and IX where okay. But FF XII I'm not sure I'm liking the battles on, I prefer the more tradition combat style. The rest of the game play looks good though.

as much as I love the FF series, I do tend to worry about its direction. The XII demo that came with DQ8 really worried me. The MMORPG style battle system is just to much of a change from the traditional FF style

I loved VII and VIII. IX was ok and X just plain sucked because of Tidus; he's such a wimp. XI was interesting in its new approach but still, it wasn't all that fun. I have high expectations for XII so yeah, I'm hoping it will pull the FF series out of its slump.

X-2 was horrible, but im not sure whether it will die or not because it is a good series and a few people even liked X-2 so it depends on whether a lot of people like the next ones or only a little

I didn't like anything past VI. Final Fantasy VII didn't bring anything new to the table beyond a clichéd plot everyone seems to love. VIII had a ridiculous engine that you could exploit mercilessly. IX took everything bad from all the previous titles. X was VII all over again but with fancier FMVs so people loved it. X-2 was Charlies Angels the game. Haven't played XI, hated the XII demo.

No, the final fantasy series is not doomed. In fact, it's far from doomed. Yes, X-2 sucked. Horribly. I never had a chance to play XI because the only internet connection I have is dial-up, so I can't comment on that. XII might not be bad; I've only watched one trailer of it and it looked kinda interesting. If all else fails, they can start making remakes of all their successful final fantasy games. (Like VII)

This list is for 7 and up. Final Fantasy 7: Best Final Fantasy game to date. It realy got Final Fantasy onto the scene. I had not even heard about Final Fantasy until it came out. It had the some of the best graphics that were avalible at the time for the PS1. The Materia System is just wonderful and highly inventive, it has great gameplay, an excellent story. Though it can be hard to understand completly until you play through the game a few times, has high replay value, Lots and lots of hidden stuff, lots of mini-games. I do not know how many hours I spent in the golden saucer racing chocobos and battling in battle square. Though they had lots more mini-games then them. Raising chocobos for racing is something like a game of it's own itself. It also has a great sound track.Final Fantasy 8: It is a good game. It has great graphics for the time when it came out. Good Gameplay. I liked the junction system. The summons were alright. The story was alright. Decent mini-games. Good Sound track. The one thing I did not like was how you earned money. Other then that I think it is the third best Final Fantasy game.Final Fantasy 9: Great Soundtrack, great graphics, good gameplay, good story, the learning tech system was alright, did not care to much for most of the mini-games, I rank this as the fourth best final fantasy game. Final Fantasy 10: Good Graphics, Decent Story, Nice mini-game, good gameplay, the sphere system was alright, the game itself was a bit to short though. The sound track was alright.Final Fantasy 10-2: Good Graphics, Story had potential but ended up completly sucking, gameplay was ok, the job change thing was interesting, game was way to short, overall this game was crap.Final Fantasy 11 (Final Fantasy Online): I have not played it. But I have watched people play it. It looks good, and the gameplay looks like a typical MMORPG.Final Fantasy 12: I have heard the graphics are amazing. I however am dissapointed that it is more of an ARPG then an RPG. I personaly prefer the turned based system. Final Fantasy Tactics: Great story, great job class system, great battle system, nice amount of hidden characters and hidden items, good gameplay, ability learning system is great, so so graphics, and has great replay value. Overall I rank this second on my favorite final fantasy game list. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: Took all the great thing from tactics and ruined them. The story was fine the first time through but after that I began to dislike it.Final Fantasy Crystal Cronicles: Have not played this one yet.

FFIV is my favorite FF series while I hate FFVIII. Oh, FFX is pretty good game ,but I can't stand mini games like Dodge 200 bolts, Chocobo Racer, or etc.Regarding FFXI, many gamers like me dislike MMORPG ,but I know there have other reasons that many gamers won't buy FFXI because of Money, Don't have computer, or etc

X-2 only sucked because of it was mission based and not the famed FF style and 11 sucked becuse it was online based and had to get a hard drive for your PS2 and crap, and the rumour of the cheif designers left eas false they didn' want anything to do with X-2 and XI but they came back to work on XII and if your wondering why XII looks like it does casue they are testing a new type of graphics it the better version of what they used on Zelda the Wind waker

Personally my favorite FF games are 7 and 9.... i think that the storyline in FF games is going to take a darker more sinister turn, because they have a new group coming up with the story... but i hope that they dont try to carbon copy mmorpg battles into FFXII because if they do that, FF is dead to me... I still play console RPGs to get away from the free roaming battles in MMOs... Either way, this next game is going to make or break the FF franchise, I just hope Square knows what its doing
