I've had mine for years, and I've been lucky enough not to have any problems with it. The only issue I've had is that a certain scene in Xenosaga makes it freeze, but that's an issue with the game, not my PS2.

Sucks to have to go through the trouble of having more then one. Luckily mine never broke. But we got it pretty recently, like couple months ago, and haven't played it as much so that's probably why lol.

I got one of the first generation PS2. It missed up like three months after i got it and missed up a lot of my games. I sent the PS2 and the games off sony fixed the console and replaced the games. Than less than a month later it missed up again so I sent it and they gave me a refurbished console. That also didn't last long and I had to sent it in. They sent me a differnt refurbished one and I've had that for the last 4 to 5 years and it works perfectly. I take care of my consoles very well. I guess I just got bad luck or with all the shipping the consoles got missed up on the way to me. The good thing was that with each refurbished console I got I got another PS2 controller.

2, the first one I had a mod-chip in it and the motherboard fryed up in couple of months. The second one I installed a flip-top works wonderfully.

I have been playing on the PS2 for years, and I have never broke any, the one I currently own is the first and last one I bought.

i went through 2 systems. the first one i probably could have saved but i opened it and that was the end of that. the second one just stoped spinning my games does anyone know why? ahhh gotta love it.

i have only gone through one.I have heard that a lot of people go through a good amount of PS2s because they "break easily" I've had mine for about a year and a half and mine is ok, but how many PS2's have you gone through?

I have, in all, been through 3 ps2s. First one, both memory card slots did not work. 2nd Disc read error problem. And the 3rd was the Same as second. 
Anywasy I got a slimline, and I love it, has'nt failed me... yet

two. my brother bought the first one when it came out and we shared it. i later came to have a copy of my own, and his old one broke (but his g/f bought him the slim version on his birthday).

i've had mine since the christmas it came out and its fine. however my brother got his a few months before me and the fan broke really quickly and then it sort of burned out. And he dropped his second one down a flight of stairs...

I'm still on my second one. The first one still works, although not as good as the newer one. Wear and tear did it in.
