I have to agree with the OP on Star Control 2 -- now available online as "Ur-Quan Masters" -- and also the old Monkey Island games. I'm getting nostalgic just thinking about them.

I'd have to say diablo and diablo 2 with the expansion are some really great oldschool PC games.

I love the Lemmings series. The old, early 90s ones. The original Oregon Trail was good too.

One great older PC game is Full Throttle. It was created by Tim Schaffer (who did Day Of The Tentacle, Psychonauts) and put out by Lucas Arts. It's a point and click adventure about a biker, and.. well, I don't want to spoil it for you. The only problem with it now is that it's a pain to get it to work on Windows XP without a DOS_BOX. Also good was Omicron: The Nomad Soul, Blade Runner, and the first two Dooms (of course).

Cs 1.6 and Starcraft and Warcraft 2 are oldschool for because I grew up with those!
