command and conquer series is definitely up there for me. Yet I think oregon trail deserves to be here. My friends and I still talk fondly about our great adventures and how my friend David always end up meeting death first via dysentery.

I think Alpha Centauri and Master of Orion II were the pinnacles of their respective genres. Those are probably two of the really old school games I remember most fondly.

I think everybody remembers those pinball games, Space Cadet, that come with windows. I love those games because it uses up all my free time that would otherwise be spent doing nothing

I'd say Civilization II is one of my favorites in the older games, especially when you added in the expansions with dinosaurs or a future war over the US. :)

Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade remains, by far, one of the best in the series. Besides that, solitaire and Age of Empires still gives me kicks -- oh yeah, and the original Diablo *shivers* Gave me chills as a little kid, still gives me some chills to this day. Something about wandering underground I don't like...

i'd have to go with Master of Magic. The battle system left some to be desired (sorry i guess i have kinda high standards), but the game is superior, inventive, and infinitely interesting. Sooo many spells, so few targets... popping a Call the Void or Chaos Rift on cities is my favorite part of the game, while the world is wracked by multiple volcanoes springing up all over the universe! Chaos magic rules all. All the magic rules, and you can have all of it except death & life at the same time.the sequel, Age of Wonders, was crap to say the least. the battle system was much, MUCH better and the battle music and sounds great, but there was just too few spells, too little variety. taking away the Civilization-style build interface was a bad move. I still play Master of Magic to this day because it RULES ALL i wish they'd make a good sequel for it....
