how do i configure keys to buttons on the contoller?

You mean the configure which buttons means 'A' 'B' 'L' 'R'? Or do you mean buttons on a joystick?

both the a,b,l,r,select,start,up,down,left,right. on the controller.

Ok open up VBA and go toOptions>Joypad>Configure>1Then set everything yourself its really easy.Then press OK

For me it's better using the controll. It's easier to play because you can set the controls like a GBA.

Well not really because most of the games that i downloaded was the games i got from my friends and it is easier to understand what to do is you just use the keyboard. :D

I use a USB dualshock controller. For both VBA and ZSNES. I have a second Microsoft Sidewinder controller in case I want to play fighting games with friends or something along those lines. I just can't stand playing console or handheld games with a keyboard, in my opinion it takes away from the experience.

Considering that the GBA has about 4 buttons its actually perfect to set up with a gamepad.Im not saying go out and buy one, but if you've got it, it just makes sense.Any diagonal movement is easier, (have any of you tried to play street fighter with a keyboard??), and if the cord is long enough you can play in bed like I do!All in all gamepads are rad if you've got'em. Otherwise use the keyboard, and don't complain because, quite simply, your playing Nintendo Ds on your computer, you lucky lucky devil.
