I do use one on my Mac (a Saitek P2500), but for some reason it doesn't recognize the D-Pad, only the thumbstick. All my other emulators work with the pad, but VBA just wont let me calibrate it to work.

Part of the fun of using an emulator for me is the new controls. I've already played these games a million times on the original systems but when I'm at college I can't bring all my systems with me so i rely on ROMs. The games actually gain some more interest when you're trying to do something you already know how to do but with new controls.

I do. It is easier-and more fun to control the characters then using the keyboard. (All the keys are close together-like a normal gameboy)

dyk that you can change the buttons... i guess i got used to using the keyboard that it doesn't feel the same if i use the controller

I bought a cheap one less than $20, but that's to play all my emulator games. Usually for GB I put the files in my flash cart and put it in my GC GB reader and play it on TV. TV is so much better on the eyes for me at least.

I don't really get the point. It just sounds like wasted money D:It only took me a few hours of playing to figure out all of the controls >.>;;But then, I don't really have a lot of money to throw around, so I tend to prefer things that cost less but do the job just as well XP

Nope, I set the WASD controls and it's fine for me, that's why I tend to play RPGs rather than platformers... I'm not good at action games and reflexes with GBA games on the PC.

Yes. I do. Bought a controller SPECIFICALLY for emulation :)It is SO MUCH easier playing platformers and such with a controller then a keyboard... Keyboards also have the limitation of only 2 keys being pressed at once :/ (XP and Vista quirk - it's annoying!)
