hell yes age matters for example little kids shouldn't watch chobits cuz some things going on there are too explicit for em (hideki having to turn chi on(yes I know it sounds wrong) by pushing he power switch in her groin)or another examplethe love hina series where kthe main character keitaro somehow always ends up groping a girl(by accident) which could give the impression that it is normal to do that.My final example is the Hellsing series. Here heads (or entire bodies) explode people get shot or sliced to bits and there's blood and gore everywhere... those series should be agemarked the way I see it

Yes. For some Anime, you need to be a little mature to understand what the heck they are saying

You Type We Show i have to agree with the one who said that maturity matters. Anime should be thought of no different then the high-end movies being put out on today's market. you have certain age groups to go with certain anime. just like the movies, but you shouldn't dis someone older watching a younger age anime.

(you shouldn't dis someone older watching a younger age anime)As for the younger viewers there is some anime that is too graphic for children to see.

The answer to the question is YES. Animes, unlike western cartoons specifically made for kids, has many age based sub-genres. It's quite safe to let a 30 year old watch doraemon but not so to let a 6 year old watch Urotsukidoji. While Looney Toons can be enjoyed by kids aged 1 to 101. 'nuff said.

It matters if the theme of the anime you watch is for mature audiences only. But the cute ones are for all ages, I guess.

Yes, age does matter when watching anime, if only for the younger viewers. You still have adults that enjoy "children's anime" like Cardcaptor Sakura and Pokemon (if you want an example of this got to Pokemopolis.com and behold the dodgyness). However, I don't think a parent would want there child watching bloody, gory stuff with a lot of death or borderline pr0n. Shows like Serial Experiments Lain might confuse them, and Fullmetal Alchemist might just be too much for them.

It is a REAL matter. You know, in Indonesia, they treat Crayon Shinchan and Detective Conan as children movie. While Crayon features implicit sexual humors and Conan explicitly pictureas a bloody murder. That's not suitable for kids below 13.

If you meant whether someone is too young or too old to start watching anime then no. If age matters for classification ans censoring purposes then HELL yes. You would want a little kid to be watching Elfen Lied would you? You'll probably traumatise the poor kid.

Hentai is most definitely not for children. As for violence, well that's why dubbed anime exists. but for the rest of us we'll watch subbed. hehe...For stuff containing like romantic themes (very few I watch personally cept for DNAngel) a six year old could watch it but wont get most of the jokes and puns.

I wouldn't think age matters when watching Anime, though there are some that's usually supposed to be watched by other teens or adults that children should not watch, but all in all no one's ever too old to be watching Anime. Even ones for little children and maybe even with their children perhaps.

age matters because two reasons: content and plot in some animes are things that a kid shouldn't see like strong violence and hentai, also a kid won't undertand animes like evangelion or ghost in the shell, but it can be exceptions for this last one

there r stories of children watching anime or anime movies(superman, batman and so on...)and than thought they could do the same with the result of bestowing death upon themselves,so yes age does matter

age doesn't matter when you watch a certain type of anime but, those super violent or nudity anime are obviously for adults
