Dragon Quest series, Suikoden, Xenogears (The good ol PS1 one), the Breath of Fire series... except that horrible one that they last put out that was just utterly annoying... Wild Arms series was really good as well, if you can get past the point that if you've played one than you've basically played them all. Legaia wasn't too bad nothing spectacular though but good in its own right. There were a few others that pop up here and there but meh, I guess FF really is the best longest standing RPG series.

Even though it has FF characters, Kingdom Hearts is much beter than any of the ENGLISH final fantasies. I say English cause FF13 is about to come out in Japan. Got that memorizied? (hehe axel....)

Try Tales Of the Abyss. Although it is not as impressive graphically, it has a good storyline, likeable characters and a great battle system. It also has replay value (stuff that can only be done on 2nd play thru and 4 difficulty settings). In fact, this game ruined FFXII for me, cos after I played this, I didn't want to play FFXII (I didnt like the battle system or characters).

Probably not but I think there soon will be unless FF starts doing better. They seem to be messing up in general with there games.

The Tales series and the Suikoden series are pretty good. Personally I think the FF series is good, but overrated.

Legend of Dragoon, and probably the second Shadow Hearts, are better than all FF games, except maybe FF6, IMO.

Suikoden Defently can compair. Sept for one of there more recent games that invold being in the navy or something. that just buged me.Earthbound would have kicked butt if they continuesd to make it.I also liked breath fo fire series.
