my parents dont care anymorethey did beforebut then after i actually began using a real gun in real life (for hunting) they decided that I had witness so much violence that i can play M rated games because it wouldn't scar me

It really depends on the game; ratings are just indicators.For instance, i can completely understand a parent not wanting their child to play San Andreas. Or Manhunt.But as a parent i can see how it would be hard to know...

No, my parents let us get pretty much any game and my bros n sisters includin myself are completely sane and normal, some parents see computer games as such an alien object. i think it does sort of depend how old you are, if your really young like 7 or 8 n your gettin a GTA game or Hitman hmmm i think thats a bit too abusive for them, i have a little cousin who playes GTA n he swears his head off n reinacts the fightin parts in GTA as a game with his bro...i guess it just depends really, it can and it cant, it all depends on the person and the age

My parents are insane all the time. They think games make me stupid and other stuff. But they are wrong. They don't know the modern things cuz they didn't had the tehnology we use in their times.

The only reasons people react to these kinds of games is because they are easily manipulated by other people. for instance the same kinds of children who react violently to violent games are likely to succumb to peer pressure or even violent movies so the only poeple who should be blamed are the parents for not realizing that their own children are easily changed by the media

There is nothing worse than a parent who buys a clearly marked "Rated M" game for their child and goes on a rampage because of violence or nudity. Then they try to get violence out of video games. Get real, people. The games have ratings for a reason. They also include reasons why the game is rated the way it is. About violence in video games messing with minds, I've played violent video games since I was a child, and I haven't beaten up/killed anyone yet. So, basically, the easily influenced should not be allowed to purchase these games. Children are the easiest to influence over any other age group. Therefore, parents should not blame violent games for their child's behavior, but rather themselves for buying the games for the child in the first place.

My folks didn't care too much with me growing up. I mean when I was just a wee lad my dad bought Terminator for me. I loved that movie! I played shooters and gore fest games all the time. I think I turned out alright though.

My parents were anti gaming till i was 7 due to games making kids violent no mater the rating. The M isnt even approachable with them however they never do check what i play, so i was able to get around those sort of things. i personally believe that if i person is mentally stable they will not kill a person because of a game but however if they are under stressful situations or other related situations. A game like GTA can put them over the edge if they get to into the game enough as i have seen stated on the news.

im sure my parents wouldnt mind, even if im underage... the problem lies with me, i just dont have the money to spare buying games.

my parents seriously don't care. they don't even know about half the games i get, but even when i do get some M-rated game right infront of them, they know i won't do anything stupid. they're cool that way. :-D
