I'm never concerned so much about the cases splitting open as I am over the plastic covering on the front of the UMD breaking in. I had a lot of customers try to trade in UMDs where the front was pushed in a bit, and the sound they make while playing isn't by any means a good thing. Sounds like it could be scratching up the top surface of the disc thus making it unplayable for good. It's got me paranoid enough to take immaculate care of my discs.Personally, as much as I hate Mad Catz items, I use their clear plastic snap-down UMD cases on all my games and movies, they're not much bigger than the discs themselves.

The UMD cases are ridiculously easy to break, I don't see why they didn't make them out of harder material because I've broken two already and have yet to find out where I can buy more. That is, if you're talking about the cases the cd's go in right? But yea, I don't like them, which is why my memory stick is a much more valuable source.

I only use the original cases. Never have put much faith in flimsy plastic shells...and I rarely need to carry more than one game around at a time.

I know you can buy extras but they break to eaasily for me

I didn't know you could buy replacements! I haven't seen them anywhere, but I also haven't looked very hard. Especially after someone at Gamestop told me they don't exist. Yes, they are weak.

Yeah there kind of weak... esp if you have a hard UMD storage case (like the kind that comes with the gamestop PSP starter kit) it feels like they will break when taking them outTakes a bit to get them out...And don't get me started on gamestop... good store but lousy employees bought a psp slim 2000/3000 starter kit and asked him if it would work for phat he said No it doesn't say it will... game company's esp Sony hardly ever change cord's and never for different versions of hardware hell they still use the same av out on the ps3 as they did on the PSX... and only power cord so they could add ground...If the kit came with something only slim had such as av out then i would see why they would leave out 1000/phatBut all it came with wasUSB Power/Data CableCar ChargerCarry caseUMD CaseHeadphones $1 ones from the dollar store sound better than these thoughand a Scratch resistant protector (would never use a cheap one though)And some transfer software
