Yes, they are. One time I dropped, fell in the floor, and broke. It doesn't really matter to me since I purposely buy UMDs with no cases, because some people sell it cheaper.

the UMD is good in the respect that its not flimsy to crack randomly. but it comes apart after too much use, makes buying used games difficult if you dont look at the quality.
