When I cought them both and my Pokémon names were being erased, the graphics were a little messed up, and some of the battle cries were as well. My case wasn't the worst though so I'm glad.

Missingno. and 'M' both know two Waterguns and one Sky Attack. You can teach them various moves using TMs and HMs. Google Missingno and you may find a movelist.

I've got one of those using an emulator and nothing out of the ordinary happened to my game either. MissingNo had pretty good attack, but its other stats were pathetic as was the attacks. I think the reason some games get glitched out is because the pokemon is stored in an area where it shouldn't be so its stats comes from who knows where and when you level up, you change values that should not be touched. If anything, the only glitch worth obtaining in blue is the level 255 porygon (well actually it's one hundred and something, but you can feed it rare candy to get it to 255). It's more powerful than mewtwo, but can't be used in regular battles or trainers (it'll drop back to the first level because of its experience). This pokemon is ideal for battles through the gameboy link though.

Actually, depending on the cartridge, different scenarios can happen to your game. SOmetimes, it messes up, sometimes it doesn't. For roms, I don't really know though. The Missingo glitch was a bug deliberately left by the developpers (why?) but the cool thing is that it can duplicate 128 times the item at the 6th place (any thought of master balls or nuggets?).@djn: there is also the Mew glitch that is worth :)

According to a site I found quite a while ago the developers didn't place a code to decide what Pokémon appear in the magic spot so Pokémon from the last place you visited will appear there unless you do the Missingno glitch. If you do it you could get Missingno, 'M', and one of three Pokémon decided by your name. The name Sigfrid would get you a high level Mewtwo. It was removed in the remakes as well as Pokémon Yellow. Nintendo says you shouldn't screw around with the glitch. It can be handy though.

It may be handy, but it is my opinion that none of the Glitch Pokemon are safe. If you're really, really interested in 'M, Missingno., and its cronies, visit TR Rose's site at http://www.trsrockin.com.

Yeah, I don't screw around with them anymore, and thank you for posting that link. I was looking for that for a while now.

When I first found out about Missingno (whom I called Missingo at the time) I tried for so long to find it, and I finally did. I found him at like lv. 80 and I kept him for like 3 seconds until I realized that it sucked. Then I put it into one of those PokeBoxes... but nothing ever happened to me when I caught it or anything. I used a Gameshark to catch Mew, and THAT ****ed up my game.

GS Codes have a marked history of messing up Pokemon. If you wish, you can try the Mew Trick at TR Rose's site, but it's difficult and actually relies (I think) on the "Special" of your current monster.

That's normal. The Hall of Fame glitch is actually semi-documented. It's basically, See 'M/Missingno. and your Hall of Fame is gone.

I was lucky at the time. All it did was screw with graphics before I got rid of it. My trainer would be divided into six pieces and be scramble something like this:135246Each number repressenting a sixth of the sprite. And my Pokemon's sprites would get messed with two, occasionally an opponent's would be messed with. Just running into Missingno could scramble you Hall of Fame data up, even if you don't save.

no one is probabl going to read this, but luckily for the people that do, i have a real goodie for you.missigmo (only missigno, not 'm') evolves into khangaskan when you level it up. missigno is a flying/water type, so teach it stuff like 'fly' and 'surf'. evolve it, and you have a surfing AND flying khangaskan. pretty cool eh?

Caught it, not much happened. I recall a few odd characters appearing on battle screens when fighting/using missingno, but other than that, it was fine.

Apart from multiplying your items and messing with you Hall of Fame data, Missingno is fine, the other glitch pokemon can be a lot worse though, the 'M one can delete your stored pokemon and even the entire saved game.
