SSB is more action packed and its a multi player game so more people can play with you

as far as action games, in my opinion, it doesnt get any better than some old school mario and megaman. for fighting games, i have to say SSB is my favorite. between mario and SSB i cant say, because I love them both in their own rightyes i can, it's Super Mario

Super Mario Brothers is my choice...the reason being that in all the years I've been playing the Mario games, I have never gotten bored with them, while Smash Brothers begins to bore me after about an hour when I'm only fighting the CPU...

Super Smash Bros. takes this one hands down, it doesn't have a storyline, but its gameplay is more enjoyable than Super Mario.

I still have to say that although SSB is a lot of fun to play (especially Melee 
and eventually Brawl ), SMB is still my favourite game. If only Nintendo would release SMB, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, and SMW2:YI as updated pseudo-3D side-scrollers, I'd be ecstatic.

these two games are completely different in theme. I would not be able to tell you the best. However i will tell you that if you like action get super smash. If you like strategy and rpg game with a long storyline get super mario bros.

definately smash bros. it is an awesome game that has other nes and snes characters that are basically in a all out brawl. Can super mario bros do that?
