Graphics don't need anymore improvement. It would be awesome if they improved them further, but Nintendo have chosen to work on the playability of the console. Eventually others will follow. It used to be: What makes a good game? Story! Then it was: What makes a good game? Graphics! Now its: What makes a good game? Playability! Its all about how you play the games now, not the graphics. I still love SNES sprites & GBA sprites (which are basically the same) & those a 2D. They're just very artistic & beautiful to look at. It hurts to see 2D graphics die.I find 2D games a lil too boring these days though...

High-Five Trex. Not enough people like you and me around anymore.

/High fivesI know. I never had the chance to own a NES or a SNES because I started my videogaming craze from the GameBoy back in 1996 I think. So I haven't been gaming for even 10 years yet. But I do not down-grade 2D games & I give them alot of credit for what we have today.I just have some kind of knack for thinking the older games are the greatest. Maybe its because I normally discuss them with an older audience.Anyway, nice to meet you Flow.

I think it depends on the genre how important graphics are. Like for example, Racing games. It's damn important, that the cars look like they do in real. Or Ego Shooters. To be real, a game could have a F'N good KI and all the stuff...if it looks like Doom 1 I wouldnt like to play it...and no, I am not a graphics whore. I still enjoy my old genesis games and stuff but I like the graphics how they are now. Improvements would be nice, but not really needed (at least not at that speed that it is improving right now). Just going backwards, that what I not want. Oh and, if I have to wait 6 months or a year longer for having a game look good, I would wait that time.

I am a fan of RPGs myself.. it is truly tragic to see games like Suikoden series move into full 3D... it crushes one of the greatest atmospheres ever in a game

I play games with good storylines. The graphics dont matter as much (I do play text games) I believe its the storuline that counts. Awesome graphics are just an added bonus. A good bonus though...

well i feel that good graphics is an important part of a good game but not necessary. Just as long as the characters aren't blocks

Well I don't really like RPG's too much. I prefer platformers & puzzle games, even though I'm not good at any of them.

I care more about gameplay and storyline, than graphics.FFX was good at the gameplay atleast and the storyline could've been better.Graphics were great.Anyway, today's games are pretty good and I like the oldies too.

I think the best rpg storyline & system is FF7 cause those game really really have many kind of storyline (dramatic, cool, sadness, happyness & mysterious storyline) and the gaming system of its are really cool, nice & simple to be play .

I am sad of all the games wasted all over this years..sometimes they remeber them and make sequeles or remakes, but many good playable games are forgotten..is sad but is part of the evolution process of videogaming.

good graphics can offset some bad game play but not much. i think, as i'm sure many here do (being a rom forum) that the classics are the best.

that's why I still play old-console RPGs. producers were more concerned with the content than graphics then.

Good graphics are always a bonus but if the story and gameplay are decent the graphics don't have to be so great.

Good graphics, I say it's to prevent a good game from becoming a bad one, but if it's bad, then don't even bother.

Good Graphics don't make a good game,a story line and battle system do.

Good graphics do not make a good game the storyling and plot twists make the game intresting.good graphics just increase the games potential.

no way! good graphics doesn't mean good game. plus, i don't have a good graphics card so i can't play those kinda games lol. but if a game had great graphics and really good gameplay, i'd love it!

how true...producers feel desperate on making a good game. they'd rather work hard on graphics than make up a great plot. take GBA's legend of mana for example. nice graphics yeah, but story? <vomits>

Good graphics don't make a good game, they make a good game better. If the game is already awesome, the graphics are just the final touch. If the game sucks, the good graphics just make it into a nicely painted tumbledown shack.

Just beacause the game has good graphics doesn't mean it's a good game. It's also gotta have a good storyline, good sound effects, good gameplay and it's not supposed to be easily completed. It's gotta take a while to finished if it is to be classed as a good game otherwise it's a pompous waste of time in my book.
