I think that graphics are a good thing to have, but gameplay and storyline are definately the most important.

Graphics mean a lot for me, although not all... I love a good fantasy looking game...of course gameplay and story line are very important too...

Hmm.. imo:Good graphics = Okay gameGood gameplay and storyline = Good gameGood graphics + good gameplay and storyline = Great game

That's pretty much my opinion too.A game has to have some type of graphics, without it you wouldn't be seeing anything - just hearing.I just dislike the way loads of people think graphics have to be 3D & the sharpest of quality to be good.

I love great graphics, and unfortunately, I let them rule my judgement when I judge a game! =/

In the past the graphics of a game were very important to me. Like when a new game with the best graphics to that date came out, I had to play it. Today it's not that importat to me anymore, but I still think good graphics are important for a good game.Any game looks a bit ridiculous if the graphics and the animations are totally crappy.

A lot of times I will only play a game if it has great visuals. But I often find that most games with great grafics don't usually have a good plot take F.E.A.R. for example, it looked great but was not that fun to play.I say games like HL2 and Far Cry really got it right...

I dont think so. Some times a game has the best graphics and the story SUX. A game to be a good game, needs graphics, story line, characters, etc

eh graphics are a big part of a game and enjoyment of the game. but the biggest and most important part is of course the game play. a perfect example is lookin at tales of symphonia and then tales of legendia. legendia is newer with good graphics adn easier to use advancement system but the game play is more limitied and there are no real puzzles or anything that make it better than symphonia

totally disagree, there are my old games that had graphics that may seem unplayable to todays standards, but its not the graphics that make them great games- many old games are much better and more engrossing than games today ex. the first command & conquer & red alert - those are just awesome graphics can be a part of making a game "better" but not making a good game

In my experiance graphics are only a means to an end. That end being a dollar. Most of the companies now and since the current gen consoles were released fell back on that. If we make it look pretty enough it will distract from the awfull game. Truth be told some of the best games i have ever played may be comparibly some of the worst looking by todays standards. This i think is in lue of the "next gen" consumer. The kids of today are going to be the adults of tomarrow and the never got to experiance what we the kids of yesterday got to enjoy. Its really an annoyance and a pain to see that my younger cousins and kids of friends try to play games today. Its even more of an annoyance becuase they want you to teach them everything. Things you shouldnt have to if games today wernt so horribly made. In short....better graphics dont make a bette game. There are exceptions. RE4 on the game cube is increadible..and the gameplay was almost flawless i think. Silent hill 4 great game geat story great visuals. Alot of rpg's now suffer that to. They make them look awsome but then the story sucks..

I think the graphics help the game, but the story line need to be good in order for the game to be good. there needs to be a balance of both.

rather not, graphics is only one of man ycomponents that can make a game good or bad...of coz, i'd be nice if the graphics is fine up to perfect, but it is the only what the gaming is about...

As long as there are eye-catching females kicking donkey (<-- as in good plot), I'm fine.

All that matters is the gameplay and storyline. The graphics are just the icing on the cake...As for me, I dont really get excellent graphics anyways. I have a relatively old graphics card, so most PC games are of average video quality. I've seen Halo on PC and what it could be with a top of the line nVidia graphics card, but nah, I was perfectly fine with loving Halo with average graphics...

I think so too... The game itself may not be good and the graphics are amasing...For example, look at all the nes games that were a success. Like super mario or the legend of zelda...

I think graphics makes the gameplay better, but gameplay IS a crucial factor to the game.
