That is a real toughie. The Rpg's are cool coz you get story and you aren't just fighting every 5 seconds. There are also puzzles. But its good sometimes to just kick some @$$, with no puzzle solving and no story and just have fun.I can't decide.....

I prefer the action based games. The rpg iteration that they'd been doing has gotten stale for me.

The RPG's aren't THAT bad but they are bad, and the sidescrolling games are much better.

I haven't even much much time in the RPG games or the series for that matter. I think it was a disgrace for them to use the Megaman franchise when that stuff can't compare to any of the original Megaman or Megaman X's franchise. After all that, it's obvious I feel that the action games are (WAY) better.

I actually like the Battle Network series, even more so than the original series.1. I like things that are closely connected with real life. INTERNET!2. Customization, you get to make your own personal navi type thing instead of using the same guy, this is in a technical sense.3. The story and gameplay is awesome, and is different from what we mostly see in RPGs, turn based yadda yadda.

Megaman has always been a rugged fast paced thrilling side-scroller, charging (or three pellet bursting) up your shots and running through the game guns blazing. the action ones were better because that is the essence of megaman. I played the other games because they were megaman games but they weren't all that good, just more pokemon rip-offs and attempts to outclass square (which cant be done). They just made the new ones with the name megaman on them so people would buy them, the battle networks aren't really megaman games, just the withering of a great old nintendo/capcom icon. Action all the Way.

I guess I liked the BN versions more because of the multiple strategies you could use and the new art design; however, the old megaman games were fun too.

Megaman is both. Action with all of the busting, and yet RPG with all of its missions.

Although I like side-scrolling classic action more, I wish they'd bring back the DASH-type of RPG gameplay.I also find nothing wrong with Battle Network's RPG style... :shifty:

While I'm a huge fan of RPG's, I started playing Megaman games before MMBN came out, so I prefer the Sidescrollers. But hey, the MMBN games are still pretty fun, if easy.

sometimes, the action type is better for me, sometimes, I also like the BN series. I prefer something like pkmn, but at least the BN series isn't like pkmn, which lets you walk in steps, so the whole pkmn world is like some grid where you can't walk freely like MMBN.

The Battle Network series introduced a different perspective, but really nothing can compare to blasting your way through a level blindly!
