the megaman battle network series is a rpg

Actually its an action/adventure game with RPG elements (leveling up, etc.)just like Kingdom Hearts. I think its more of an adventure game than an action or rpg game.

what is the best megaman gameplay a RPG or a Action??

I really like the RPG gameplay as seen in the Battle Network games. Plugging Megaman in to fix things is very cool and unique.

I loved the first three Battle Network Series, yet the original sides crolling ones were great as well.

I personally enjoyed the battle network series, but i always found that the original action side-scrolling megaman to be the best. Especially the megaman x series. (earlier series, like from 1- 4) Although a big fan of rpg, megaman isn't the game to become an rpg in my opinion.

To rumeal omega and Kyuubi_S4I accept your answer. The category of this MegaMan series are only found at Nintendo.com which they said Action and Adventure. Also any official sites which they said "RPG" which is called Role-Playing.I'm just a humble mistake. Forgive me, everyone. :o

Personally I like a little of both. Battle Network wasn't that good at first, a "disgrace" as some have said, but it was a good time killer not as good story as some of the originals but still good. Later on it got a lot better and was actually worth the money. The side-scrollers in my opinion were the best, a little hard at times yes, but still great and some even had a fantastic story line. So i guess that i would have to say the scrollers are my favorites, but i would do with either one if necessary. :o

Well, my take on it is both BN and original were good games. I'm a little biased since I've loved virtually all the megaman games out. It'll probably never happen but there needs to be more done with the MMX series so that it ties directly (game-wise) into the MMZ and ZX games.I'm a huge fan of continuity and good story or at least interesting story

I grew up playing the NES Megaman games, so that obviously expresses my preference between the action or RPG-based games. The only RPG-based Megaman game I've played was the first Battle Network game on the GBA. It was pretty fun, but I prefer the action games like the classic, X and Zero series.

While I tend to prefer RPG games, I think action fits Megaman better. It's simple storylines allow you to become immersed in the gameplay.
