whereas the nsmb is a great new game and is a lot of fun, i'd have to say that mario kart ds is an absolute MUST HAVE for any ds library, but mostly only because of its excellent wifi online play

well the minigames from mario bros is really fun, but mario kart ds u can play witht he people online or play with friends online, so i recommend mario kart.

This sums it up pretty well. I'd go with Mario Kart though as I had it and played it for ages where as I traded NSMB after a couple of weeks.It depends. If you have Wifi, get Mario Kart. If not, then New Super Mario Bros. I'll post some info about both games since I own both:New Super Mario Bros.PROS:- Some pretty fun mini-games (More to play when connected with others)- Plays like the original Super Mario Bros. so retro Mario fans rejoice!- A lot of replay values- New items like Mega Mushroom and the blue turtle shellCONS:- No new mini-games can be unlocked- No feathers and whatsoever since it's like the original Mario Bros.- No wifiMario Kart DS:PROS:- Wifi compatiblility- Replay Values (Not as much as New Super Mario Bros. though...)- Lasts pretty long if you play wifiCONS- All players that are connected from DS to DS are required to have their own cartridges if you guys plan on playing the full game (Download Play allows only 4 battle stages and Mushroom Cup in VS mode)- Not all tracks are available on wifi.

I would get Mario kart DS. I found it more enjoyable and it never gets old playing online.

Having both games, and having finished both games, I think I preferred NSMB over Mario Kart. I thought there was much more replay value, and the minigames were way more fun, especially if you have someone to duel against.

Kart for the wifi.If you want nostalgia either way will get it done, but kart has more replay value IMO.

Mario Kart DS for sure!!!it could be unlimitedly fun!!!unlike New Mario Bros. repeating it could be boooooring

I played through the New Super Mario Bros. and found that it was pretty short.I know there is still a ton of stuff you could do and redo even after finished the game, but I still feel that Mario Kart has a bit more replay value (for me anyhow).And with Wifi Mario Kart is pretty much a must have. One of the best multi-player games on the DS.

New super mario bros is a great game though it only took me a week to get everything. Mario Kart is better because of infinite replay value. Nothing like getting four people together and playing. Plus being a shy guy (with out card) is so cool

Oh yes Mario Kart Is the best game ever I always loved it from N64 and now DS i haven't plyed it on DS yet though.

Mario Kart, no question.New Super Mario Bros. is only fun until you beat it once, then there's nothing left to do.If you like any of the Mario Kart games at all, though, you'll love Mario Kart DS. It's EXTREMELY solid, and the online play is like a dream come true.
