It all depends on what format its in when you download it. If its in iso or bin, you should be able to use any burning program like nero to do it.Some come in mdf or mds (something like that) then you need dvd-decrypter.I think its better to burn it directly from a working ps2 disk that way you know its the real thing. You never know what you are getting online.

1.Before burning anything make sure you have good quality media or else it will screw up your PS2's laser.Check this list:Taken from - Digital FAQ"1ST CLASS MEDIAAlmost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:PVC = Pioneer (Japan) = (-R)(-RW) ... media is no longer madeMXLRG0x = Maxell (Japan) = (-R)(-RW)YUDENT, TYG0x = Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim (Japan) = (-R)(+R)MCC, MKM = Mitsubishi Chemicals (Singapore/Taiwan) = (-R)(-RW)(+R)(+RW)TDK, TTG0x, TTH0x = TDK Corp (Taiwan/Japan) = (-R)(-RW)SONY0xD = Sony (Japan/Taiwan) = (-R)(-RW)2ND CLASS MEDIADecent discs, though not perfect, about 80-95% success rate:RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh (Taiwan) = (+R)(+RW)PRODISC = Prodisc Media (Taiwan) = (-R)(+R)RITEK = Ritek (Taiwan) = (+R)(-R)(-RW)(+RW)FUJIFILM = Fuji = (-R)(+R)OPTODISC = Optodisc = (-R)INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)3RD CLASS MEDIAQuality can be very questionable, about 50-80% success rate:LEADDATA, LD01, LD, LEDA = Lead Data = (-R)(-RW)BEALL = Samsung BeAll (Taiwan) = (-R)(+R)MBI = Moser Beaur (India) = (-R)(+R)(+RW)MAM-A, MAM-E (USA, Europe) = Mitsui = (-R)PRINCO, fake TDK = Princo (Taiwan) = (-R)(-RW)ONIDTECH = Ul Tran Technology (Taiwan) = (-R)MUST = Unknown OEM = (-R)GSC001, GSC002 = Gigastorage (Taiwan) = (-R)(+R)CMC, CMCMAG = CMC Magnetics (Taiwan) = (+R)PHILIPS = Philips (Taiwan) = (+RW)4TH CLASS MEDIAPathetic garbage media, landfill material, about 0-50% success rate:CMC, CMCMAG = CMC Magnetics (Taiwan) = (-R)PIODATA, PIO = LeadData/ Ritek (Taiwan) = (-R))(+R)OPTODISC = Optodisc (Taiwan) = (+R)(+RW)LONGTEN = Jilin Qingda ??? (China) = (-R)YIJHAN = Yi Jhan Technology (Taiwan) = (-R)ALL FAKE MEDIA = mostly InfoSmart (HK), E-Net (UK) and Mitsui (USA,Europe)AN31, AN32, ANWELL, AN30 = "default" stamper code (usually Infosmart) = (-R)AML = Advance Media Limited (Taiwan) = (-R)INFOSMART, ISO001 = Infosmart (China) = (-R)(+R)DAXON = BenQ/Acer (+R)(-R)VANGUARD, VDSPMS = Unknown OEM = (-R)UME001 = UmeDisc (Hong Kong) = (-R)WFKA = Wealthfair Investment (China) = (-R)(+R)ANYTHING ELSE = Unknown OEM or NEW"2.Next step is to download ImgBurn:
http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Or get Alcohol 120% but you'll have to find a pirated copy yourself.3.Now go to Mode and click on write. Now click on the little folder thing next to the "Please select a file" line.Choose the ISO or other file you want. If your media is rated 8x, it's best to never burn under 4x. If your media is 16x, it's best to never burn under 8x.4. Congratulations you're done and now enjoy your game! (Hopefully)

Generally they're ISOs. If you're talking about .rar or .zip then you just extract them and it usually gives you an ISO.If it isn't than ImgBurn is still able to burn some of the other file extensions like .mds .If ImgBurn doesn't support it, go find a pirated copy of Alcohol 120% and that should do the trick.

Thanx man and could i get more info on how to use dvd-decrypter?And is the quality of the DVD really neccessary for the success of a burn? And if the file is in the .ISO form, all i have to do is burn that alone on a DVD and it will work on a modified PS2 right?

Well DVD decrypter is discontinued but the creator of that made ImgBurn which is exactly the same thing. It's not too hard to use imgburn, just browse for your file and set the speed to whatever you want and burn after that it should work. The quality of the DVD is necessary! Not only do the chance of burning a coaster is almost non-existent but the high quality DVDs won't screw up your PS2's laser. The laser is important. In .iso form, all you have to do is load up the file, set it at a speed of whatever you want but keep in mind what I posted above, burn it and pop it in your PS2.

You can use any software you want, I'm just giving you an extra program to use.ImgBurn supports most forms and is generally easier to use.You can use Nero if you want.Robo warned for being offtopic.

They both have their greats and bads. Just get both so you won't ever need to complain XD .Well you don't really need Daemon tools, but you can get it if you wish.Alcohol 120% is gotten by pirating via BitTorrent.Download this and install it:
http://download.bittornado.com/download/BitTornado-0.3.15-w32install.exe
Then download this:
http://www.torrentspy.com/download.asp?id=773843
Now double click it. There should be a pop-up browsing window so select a place to save your file.

Thanx i'll do that.I read somewhere that if the file is in .mdf or .mlf then we need demon tools and extract the .iso file from them..So is all this neccessary or just use imgburn and burn the .mlf or .mdf on the DVD and the game will work properly?

I've never had any .mdl or .mdf files so I don't know. But if ImgBurn can support those files then the game should work properly I think.Get daemon tools in case.
