The original because it was the NES game I could never understand, much less beat, as a little kid. Then when I got zero mission for the GBA years down the road I beat it pretty easily :PAfter that, Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. Honestly I thought the other 2 primes were better than the original for the most part, but the original Metroid Prime's Ridley fight and first form final boss was so much fun that it catapults the game up to Super Metroid level for me.

I would say Metroid Fusion, because of the final confrontation between Samus and the SA-X.

I believe that Metroid Fusion was a great game and that the Prime series ranks up there with it as the best metroid games.

Hum... Hard question... But I can definitively say that Super Metroid (3), Metroid Fusion (4) and Metroid: Zero Mission are the best! They have beautiful graphics, thrilling music (specialy in the "its going to blow up!" sequences!), lots of secret passages, lots of itens, and... a MAP for the entire game. If only Metroid 1 and 2 al least had maps...

I have to say that metroid prime was my favorite one. It was an extremely beautiful game.

I really enjoyed playing super metroid as a kid. That and prime are the best IMO. Played all in the series.

My vote also goes to Super Metroid - still playable ten years later - what you won't say about Metroid Prime (3D Graphics age badly) - and an incredible replayability

I like supermetroid most.I also like metroid fusion or zero mission because their system almost follow that of supermetroid.

Metroid Fusion was the first "Metroid/Castlevania" type game that I ever played from start to finish and got me interested in those games in the first place.Super Metroid was cool but hard and at times frustrating. I loved Zero Mission though - that was my personal favourite (the one thing i wish they had kept in it though was the ability to toggle beams etc)! I kinda wish they had remade Super Metroid and/or Metroid II in a similar fashion (Super Metroid out of interest and Metroid II coz i'm not too keen to play the original GB game).

Snes version. Great music for the time and great powerups too.The primes were great, but everyone played the snes version.

I always liked Metroid Fusion best because it was awesome to be fighting another you. It was the only game I ever played when it came out.

i think the best one is super metroid, and metroid 2 where you kick out the ass of all the metroid planet sr388, thats a really hard ang good game, but bad graphics cause its on gameboy

i love zero mission, its a wicked remake of the original and once you've finished it you get the original version to play through aswell!
