The only game I've ever played in Japanese is Tokimeki Memorial. I played that game and did not understand a word they were all saying. However, I did learn to recognize which symbols meant which girl's names, so I would just learn to realize what each event concerns which girl. I also used save states to figure out what she liked and what she didn't like.

I have played some games in Japanese. I have basic knowledge of the language. I can make out the menu commands when it comes to RPGs. I am currently studying Japanese.

If you knew the language, the grammer would be hard to Master. For emample: English Grammer: I loved her for a long time. Japanese example: I love her long time. Confusing, isn't it? And that's just the start of it. So why would we play Japanese games? Even the Japanese get confused sometimes. And they just get beaten if they don't understand.

Like when you wan to play a game SO BAD when it comes outin Japan you buy it. How many people have actually bought it even if they speak only english? :shifty: I know I have...

It really depends for me. I never buy games in Japanese now adays but in the days of Super Nintendo or using ROMs now I would defiently. Back in those days you didn't need to know Japanese to play a good game. No words or anything. Like I recently downloaded the Japanese Yu Yu Hakusho games that only came to Japan and I'm playing them just fine. So yeah...older games I would so play in Japanese because I don't need to know the language but defiently not the games of today. n.n

Jump Superstars, but only because it's so awesome, you don't even need to know how to read it.

I tried it for about 3-4 times already. It's pretty much hard to understand. I haven't tried buying one though. 'Cause probably It's not worth my money. Cause I don't understand Japanese. Maybe I'll just wait for the English Release date of that game.

I haven't yet bought any japanese ones but I have downloaded sum. When news of pkmn mystery dungeon first came out, I looked all over the place for a rom. Finally I found one through limewire(p2p networking file-sharing software) and it turned out to be in japanese... I still played it all I could though...
