I've played my share of Japanese games when I can't find a translation, because I can understand a little (studied Jap. in Swed. equivilent of High School). But I'd rather play the English language versions so I don't have keep running for my kanji dictionary ^_^But since I have sad weakness for dating sims and they are rarely translated into English, I tend to return to the Japanese versions...

I' prefer to wait for the translated version, however if I had no choice, I'd just buy the japanese version. Like SRW J.

The most japanese games ive played are roms that I downloaded that arent all that complicated. not stuff like RPGs and games with real stories and stuff that require you to read, just games like fighting games, racing, stuff like that.

Of course i prefer games which i can actually read what's going on, but that's not to say I haven't played Japanese games. The most recent one was for The Law of Ueki. Anime watchers will know what I'm talking about. Basically it wasn't text heavy and was more about the fighting system. Since I had already watched the series I pretty much knew exactly what was going on. Another one I can think of is the latest Mystical ninja for the Gameboy Advance. Had no clue what was going on but simply continued to play on since I love the series. One more would be fire emblem 6 The sealed sword. I just played through simply because of the great battle system implemented into the game.

I have tried to play a japaese game once, and it is really bad in my oppinion because i donb't understand what the characters of the game are saying, which means that i will not understand the storyline or what to do to progress through the game. That's why i prefer to wait to the U.S game.

Even with the announcement of new Halo projects, the principal trilogy won't be forgotten from our minds as fast as we may expect...

Halo forever!!

My Rule for any Famous Jap Game is to wait for the ENG translation because if I played Jap ver. I don't understand a story line and make me don't wanna play ENG ver.

I definitely prefer Japanese developers to US or European developers, but I've always waited for the US release before playing a game. I may try getting Bleach though since it doesn't look like that one is ever going to make it to the US.

I've played countless japanese games and no i don't understand what the game tells me to do. I'm in the middle of playing the naruto rpg game and I'm doing pretty well considering the fact that i have no idea what to do next in the game. I just want an english patch for the game so I can play it the right way. Like it should be!

Even though I voted that I play the games in Japanese, it's only Fire Emblem 3 (Monshou no Nazo, the one with Marth), 4 (Seisen no Keifu, the one many Fire Emblem players say is the best), and 6 (Fuuin no Tsurugi, the one with Roy), and I used translation patches. They counted because none of the 3 were released in the US.
