Kingdom Hearts 2 really added a good story. Although it wasn't as good as number 1's, they smoothed out the battling added some really cool worlds and gave room for adding games in between them.

kingdom hearts 1 had the better storyline but kingdom hearts 2 had the better game play. it seems as if though in kingdom hearts 2, they were just making up bs to go with it.

I can't say for myself. But my roommate said he preferred Kingdom Hearts I for the nostalgia value. I asked him to bring his copy back after spring break so I will post up about my opinion after that.

I liked KH2 better probably because I played it first. It's got a better combat system, and better graphics wich kind of fu**ed me over when I played KH1. The story line in the Kingdom Hearts games are great tho. I play both KH1 and KH2 frequently when I'm visiting my dads.

Although one is good, I like 2 better it improve the gameplay and the story was longer

Kingdom hearts 2. I enjoyed the story far more than KH1, The combat system was, as a whole, Slicker, Quicker and more fun. The music seemed to be of better quality as well. It had several rather more... memorable areas than KH1 as well, Timeless River and the World that Never Was chief among them. The tradition fight with Sephiroth was also more enjoyable than KH1's, more room to run around and better flow.

Now noramally I have to give it to the first because of it's originality but I like the different worlds in number 2. I think I'd have to give it a tie because there are some things I like in them both and they are both excellent games.

Overall I liked KH2 better. It improved on the combat, it improved on the skill system, it made the keyblades feel less identical to each other, the boss fights felt less like "A normal fight, but bigger and with more HP.". I'm still slightly torn on the gummi ship system between the two games though. It was mostly improved in 2, but the point limit the implemented felt really forced and arbitrary and made using options (the mini gummi ships) kinda pointless since you got basically the same effect by converting them into points for the main ship, plus the fact that they removed a few gummi parts that I kinda liked in KH1 (transformation comes to mind). Also the fact that you had to unlock every part, ability, and other things for it and really didn't get more than what was unlockable which, between that and the point system, somewhat took away from one of the things that really drew me to the gummi ship system in the first place: Building neat stuff with it.

Both games are legendary in my mind, but since you put me on the spot, I'll pick KHII. Kingdom Hearts is awesome in every way, but KHII brought it to a whole new level. Best games ever.
Umm, no. They had the whole story line thought before they even started developing. They put a lot pf thought in it, much better than other developers at that time.
Plus, Sephiroth beats Ansem any day. Just no contest, dude.

KH 1 It was the first game I really got into on the ps2. KH2 may have had better graphics and gameplay but the storyline of KH1 was way better.

I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts II better. I feel it was overall more polished than its predecessor, because the developers had the opportunity to pick and choose and perfect the elements from that game compared to the first one.
