Of course they make you smarter. The games increase the activity in your brain, which aids in the creation of new neurons and the formation of connections between them.

For the first few days, yes. After that, your brain recognizes the pattern to the game and just goes to sleep. Playing different brain training games might help. Like, if you have seven, one for each day of the week. That MIGHT help your brain more than playing Brain Age daily. Don't take my word for this. The only sentences I'm really sure of are the first two and the last two.

It depends on what kind of game you play. Also some people are gifted for such games and others are skilled. So can not comment

I think it doesn't 'make you smarter', but more likely it keeps your brain erm... well oiled and running smoothly

It trains your brain to be more alert and to handle situations that take place in real life.It does really show alot of difference when I play it and my girlfriend plays it. She doesn't use as much brain as I do, and that is not a sexist remark. She is just not the type to study, more of a chit chat person =).

yes, brain games are proven to grow dendrites which are nerve extensions that bridge different areas of your brain EVERY TIME YOU MAKE A CONNECTION such as a connection that you have made when you were a child : ice=cold...as soon as you recognised that... were actually before... your brain instanly grew a nerve connector

I think while it may not make you smarter, youre better at reacting and noticing patterns and other things after playing.

There's actually an article on this subject if anyone would care to readhttp://www.popsci.co...ecbccdrcrd.htmlIt's an article about how playing video games help improve certain hand-eye coordination functions. It's a short article so I really don't needa summarize it.

There are vastly different definitions for intelligence. If you want to go purely by physical evidence, then there's no way to alter you're brain's physical size because new neuron's are never created. Size isn't often used as a measure of intelligence any more, however, scales like IQ, g, and EQ have not become generally accepted because there are still many equally competing theories of intelligence.

I don't think it makes you smarter, but it gives you practice for certain brain activities. I don't know if it really helps you in your daily lives.

All it does is exercise your brain. If you apply that execise into studying, then you'll get smarter. If not, you won't.It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. (pardon the pun)

I think they do. Yeah they may be repetitive but if you recognize a puzzle or pattern or phrase then you can apply that knowledge to new scenarios and come up with a clever solution that you might not have thought of before.
