It certainly makes you smarter than playing violent beat the brains out of everything you see games, right?

I feel that these brain games actually dont do anythin for me... ive been playin brain age for like 3 months and i cant get below age 20 (which is supposed to be the 'ideal' brain age). the good thing about it tho is that i havent seen many repeats in the questions yet. so it still is able to keep you on your toes and you arent jus memorizing the questions + answers.

I don't think they really work or anything. I'm sure it stimulates the use of your brain anyhow, but I doubt anyone will become smarter from playing it, but perhaps using your brain is good for it in some other way. >_>;

I don't think they actually "make you smarter", they just keep your brain in shape so learning can still come easy. It's why it says "train your brain" not "teach your brain."

Hi,I have been playing these brain games (brain acad and so on..)My Question is, do you really think they make u smarter? or do they just make u practice answering the same questions??WHAT YAAA THINK??

If you've played them, wouldn't you then know the answer to your question?But here's my answer: If you don't really use your brain that much, you would probably see dramatic improvement in your smarts. However, if you're a really smart guy, you maybe improve, but not that much.

I think so to some extent; research has proven that constant usage of the brain to solve problems can sharpen one's cognitive power as well as improve memory. However, don't expect to be a rocket scientist in some time if you're not already one.

I bought Brain Training 1 and 2 (Brain Age in North America) and I thought they were good fun. However, once I'd unlocked everything, I got bored of them rather quickly. I thought the strobe test was really cool, you know where you have a name of a colour but the font is a different colour. I went on a training course last month and the lecturer wanted a volunteer for a strobe test on his Powerpoint presentation. I aced it and left him speechless. I got a round of applause too from the other delegates. Thank you Dr Kawashima!

i think they make you smarter... i remember before i got brain age i really sucked at doing math in my head.. (like simple math) . i was really slow at it and i sometimes had to count on my fingers. but after i played that addition/subtraction/multiplication/division exercise in brain age for a few weeks i found it easier to calculate stuff in my head. so yeah, i think they those brain games really do help. they helped me!

I wanted to get smarter, so I bought the game. Then the game made me smarter. Then I felt dumb for wasting $30 on the game.

I think it doesn't make u smarter but does increase IQ, because on a real IQ test they do questions like what those games do, quick simple math, memorization, etc.

Maybe. I know that I'm able to do multiplication and stuff quicker now, something that I was terrible at before.

I don't think it makes you smarter, haha. But it does work your noodle a bit, some times, but arguably any other game with puzzles or whatever does that too.It might make you react quicker (maybe...), but I don't think reflexes counts as a "smart".

I think they just make you good at the game. If you play any game long enough you'll get good at it. I don't think you're getting smarter just because you play the game better
