These games don't make you smarter, but they improve yourefficiently abilities, making you think more effective, faster and more efficient, but you don't gain real knowledge.

dont think they make you smarter, i think they increase your memory rating, so you can remember why you went in a room. Everyone knows what i mean, when you walk into a room and you forgot why and you start asking yourself? Thats why those games come in handyspam na! i need some poin !!

I don't think it will make you smarter. It just tries to make your brain work every day. Practice, practice, practice......

Well it depends on what you classify "smarter" as... no it won't teach you how to do anything useful. However these games exercise the learning part of the brain and allow you to gain information quicker therefore making you smarter. It is a proven fact that humans have an aptitude for learning language during the first few years of life, however in time this ability is lost because it becomes inactive due to lack of stimulation. These game force you to "think outside the box" which in turn stimulates parts of the brain. Also as for repeating the same questions over and over, this stimulates memory and allows you to expand the long-term memory portion of the brain.

Yea, I agree. I thought Brain Age was okay...for about five minutes. Then I was like, "Eh...I can live with a fifty year old brain." :(

Well, my score was better the second time I played it, so I think I either got smarter, or I got faster. I think that they don't make you smarter, but make you faster at reacting. Maybe that's the purpose of the game. I just like to play for fun.

I don't think they actually make you smarter.. they just help you keep your brain sharp, cuz all of the questions are pretty easy.

Although the brain cannot surpass its initial IQ (without becoming a savant, or doing something miraculous, or just taking your vitamins :P), IQ usually deteriorates over time. The less you use your brain on new problems, problems simple as brushing your teeth with your left hand in the morning, the faster it deteriorates. By stretching your mind muscle, you can reverse the deterioration, well, deteriorates the wrong word here, its more like locking away. So playing games like this prevents your mind from slipping and if combined with other unique experiences and (non frustrating) problems, im sure they can.

I don't think so. It looks like another company just trying to earn profits with their generic thinking tests
