I reckon that it will. The PSP has lots of features like music, videos, games, internet...BUT the iPhone is gonna come out and blow sony out of the water, coz the iPhone can basically do all that, AND make a phonecall, AND its touch screen! Now you cant compete with that...

It's one of the biggest consoles in Japan! It's versatile and won't be replaced until the PlayStation 2 Portable comes out. Of course it'll survive!

The PSP also has a camera, keyboard, webcam, and other modifications.

It really depends on the kind of games they make. I really see no reason why the PSP will have any trouble keeping up to par in the future, as long as the games are worth it.

I think that the PSP has a vastly greater potential to last long than the DS. The homebrew/development scene is far better.

Well, it is actually hard to predict but i guess if they won't keep launching new games, it'll be hard to last long.

Sony is aiming for a 10 year lifespan:http://pspupdates.qj...g/49/aid/121471Which is ridiculous, and won't happen. But at least they have high hopes! haha

I dont think the PSP is going anywhere. As long as good titles are coming out for it, then I dont think its going to fall off the face of the earth.

Yes the PSP will last because there is high demand for hand held fun, and plus todays world is "portable."

the commercial game scene for the PSP is already dead. it was dead from the start. Commercial PSP games suck, with very few exceptions. The homebrew scene is alive and well, and will continue to be, as long as Dark_AleX is around.

In a gaming competition, probably not but the game boy has nothing compared to all of the applications that the psp has, like internet, music player and soon to be in America(available everywhere else) GoMessanger, the Video Instant message voice thing. So I think it will last but its gaming wouldn't be its strong point.
