Probably. Its only competition is the DS. Plus, it's got an amazing homebrew scene. The DS can run HB, too, but it requires special cartiridges and doesn't run too well. And then there's the multimedia thing. I used my PSP more than my DS even before I hacked it, because of the movies and music. (Plus, the better games :D)

i am 85% sure that it will continue to be moderately profitable. granted, they would have to make sum serious changes. the next generation probably would have to turn away from umd's, have a longer battery life, and have more platform game support(resident evil? O YEA!). i think i can say for sure that most gamers are tired of seeing rerelease after rerelease of games like tetris or galaxian. and seeing as nintendo is the only real competitior it has, the psp is in a nice position for a standing place in handheld gaming.

im not too sure, the advertisement in the uk is nearly non existent and they are throwing ALOT of crap games out on it. But its a sony console which by name alone should help stopping it fading away.

of course it will, the graphics are better then the nds, the games are more challengeing, and the fact that control scheem is similar to a counsle controler, it will last.

True, but you have to think how long the GBA lasted beforehand. And the support of the homebrew community is whats keeping the PSP alive right now. All it really needs now is a better quality of games. So untill Sony puts more emphasis on game play the PSP in my opinion wont last long.

i think it will last cause its got alot of games even if it is crappy graphics the game play is still usually good and alot of parents buy them for their children even over the DS.But i do think it wont be long until the PS3 dies out.

I doubt that it will. I haven't seen a PSP ad on tv in forever. Most people are more excited about the DS then the PSP anyways.

While PsP might not be a dominant force in the US market, elsewhere like Japan, it is still growing strong.

On one and, Nintendo is sticking to the tried and true formula of keeping non-loading cartridge games whereas Sony is starting a new thing by using the UMD. Now we all know how the PSone vs N64 thing went right? Ofcourse the PSP is going to last and even have a successor.

It is actually a very advanced system, its just that few people take full advantage of its features. As long as sony continues to present these newer features, it will stay fresh. I think its here to stay for a while.

It really depends on the kind of games they make. I really see no reason why the PSP will have any trouble keeping up to par in the future, as long as the games are worth it.

Exactly The PSP is great. Just the games let it down.

I doubt it would die out. It'll die out in a few years after they make a new portable playstation device. Although.. I don't see that happening anytime soon
