I just picked up FFV for the GBA. Having a rom is nice for a game that's hard to find, but I prefer playing the games on the handheld system because I enjoy the portabilityI usually make something up like: "raisin" or "meringue"

if the main character already have a default name, then i wouldn't bother to change it, but if it doesn't, i 'll name it with whatever name that comes through my mind on that time.

when I have to name a character, I base it on my mood or what I expect an end result to be. For instance in Sim City, I expected my city to fail, so I named the mayor Impeach.

If it's a game like Pokémon, or something where the naming won't effect the gameplay in even the slightest way, I'll name the character after myself. "Ranko"I'll use the character's own name if it's a Legend of Zelda game, though.

Well in most of the games that I play I tend to stick the default name. Of course, in games such as Disgaea the main characters are stuck with their default name, but every character I create I can give it a name.I tend to try and come up with fitting names. I'll tend to give magic users a name based on their element or elements. I'll tend to give ninja based characters names from shows like Naruto and tend to name my close range fist fighters after Dragonballz characters.Of course, once and a while I get bored and I'll create a prinny squad and name them after car parts or something.And as far as my archer goes I tend to name her Kagome. I then give my other characters names from Ranma 1/2, Tenchi, and other animes.

Usually when I'm playing a game, I see if the name spot has five spaces, if so, I name it my real name. But When I'm playing games like Dragon Warrior or the such, (it only allows four or less) I usually name it Rok.
