I name the main character after me, and leave the other characters to their preset names, and if i;m bored i just make random names.

I would most of the time name a character my own name, but I would sometimes use the names of characters that I have created, or even the username I use now.

I prefer using the game name because I prefer sticking to the plot or if I'm replaying a game I might name hime with the same name as the final boss

I think it really depends for me. I use generally the same name, but there are those occasions where the programmers added voice just to say the characters name out of nowhere near the end of the game because they felt like it. In those occasions I choose to stay generic.

If the char is cute i call him Satan, Destroyer, Assasin and if he/she is tough and dangerous looking i call him Puffy, Kitten ect. I just love to mess with diferent names. But main char always gets my real mane which is Junior.

Well I just leave the default name , cuz i don't like to bother , but than in some games like pokemon where the game has a show i just name the character the name of the main character from that show... in pokemon games i name the guy Ash... in yugioh yugi... dragonball Z ... you get the point

I tend to pick names from my favourite books,movies,animes or sometimes my own creations(I don't really prefer common names,I like unorthodox yet cool ones 
).If there's many characters,I'll pick a particular series and identify which one bears the most resemblance to a particular person.Of course,I take into account what's the limited number of letters for naming a character.If there's too much,then I'll think of another series.I don't change names of Pokemons,I just like they way they are

i name my char my name and if i can name the other people i would name them anime characters in Bleach,naruto and one piece but when i play the game agian i just use their normal names

I name mine 9000?! Its rather humorous because there are points in the game where it'll just say "9000?!" and its sooooo good.

I use my own name. If I beat it and re-play it I name it Dart. I don't know why I jusst remember I started the tradition on my second play through of LoZ;WW
