Normally I just call it myself, Mike, Unless I feel inclined to call him/her something else.

When i was younger i made the names ridiculously stupid (like "poopy"). Now the names are just people i know.

When given the option to name, I name my male characters AJ most of the time.

I call them my own name, but if i choose a boy character, i call him Anthony ^^

if the game already give the character a name,i usually will just used that,but if not,i often use Max.(from the game dark chronicle,Maximilian)

I usally pick a name that would fit the setting and if I'm lazy I just put my name.

My first game ever was pokemon silver, so my instinct now is to name every character SILVER.

I always do it the simplest way.Type in Google "Most common Male/Female Names."Find one that sounds fitting and use it

Oh wow, so many people choose a name. I thought most people stuck to the default names.Looks like im in the minority, i default it! I pick the default names cause its what the game makers thought would be the most appropriate.Does the name really matter, i dont think it does ... but here I am posting on a forum about how I name my characters, hahaha.

usually when i name a character in a game i usually name it after myselfor the name of the main character's name in the game

it all really depends on the mood im in lol but most of the time i name the character a nick name my gf gave me yeah i know thats kinda funny but i like the nickname she gave me

I tend to keep the default names in character driven games, both because I'm terrible at coming up with names and the default feels natural for the world. The exceptions are when it's supposed to be an embodiment of the player, when I use my alias.

I never name a protagonist after myself...seems generic but maybe its my name. When its a cool name I keep it otherwise I usually go with 'Felix'.
