Not sure if responding to a psuedo-necromancy is necromancy, but this is a cool topic to reply to, so I shall.

 

For Pokemon it's almost always my own name. For a lot of RPGs its my own name or a name I like, too.

It depends for me, sometimes I use VikzeLink, sometimes the default name and sometimes a random name that I make up.

When they have their own default name, (generally in J-rpg) i choose default names

well for pokemon or zelda games i use ask or link. for final fantasy games i just leave the default name, i they already got a name then no point changing it. if the game really wants me to pick a name then i use the same as my username.

I usually go with something insulting, food-related or just plain weird.
Some of my favorites are Dobie, Spudicus, Lord Pancake, Goat Boy, and Boxcar
