What do you think makes a game good?There are lots of reasons that make a game good , do you like certain things in a game , or do like everything to mix up in one good thing , like if the gameplay is good but the graphics are between medium and bad would you say that it is a good game or would you just play it when you are bored, i think this poll depends on the tastes of the players. so we'll see the results.

I voted for all, as they're all important, but I'd say the most important are the characters, game system, and story, in that order.The characters first, because people won't want to play a game where all the characters would have you inflicting physical harm on yourself because it's more pleasant than dealing with them.Then the system, because the core of the game is how you play *hurr* so if it's not fun, then it's useless. There's no point if it doesn't entertain. Which makes characters important again because you want entertaining characters.Then story, because being a heavy reader myself, I don't think you can get by without at least a somewhat decent story. Unless it's a game that deliberately has no or a very small story, like sports games or the like. I think games need to have a good story going, or just go die or something.

The game play is the most important, but other things like the story line, graphics, and even music.Let's say, SSBM. everyone likes it right? but you wouldn't want to be playing the pixelated free-for-all. It doesn't have a story line, so bad example. and, you probably wouldn't want to play your favorite game with Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars in ever stage, so they all matter.

I voted for all, because if you only have one of the things stated as being good, then you have a cruddy game because everything else is crappy

If a game doesnt have all of those than its probably not a good game,I suppose you could pass on diffuculty level but other than that if it's missing one part than most likely it isnt that great

All of them are important components. I'd say things to do can salvage even the worst looking games, if there is enough optional content, such as the GTA-esque sanbox genre, or Oblivion's huge world.

What makes a game good, is the explosive storyline. The storyline first starts off slow...it leads you into it, draws you into it, makes you so hooked, your on the edge of your seat the entire game. Then at one point the storyline explodes and is still explosive until the end when the game finally ends.

For me it has to be the longevity (sp) of the game, I need games that will take a while to complete and has some level of replayability aswell.The games need to be both fun and rewarding to play

1) A good story 2) Cool characters 3) good battle/game system 4)originality 5) variation (meaning there being different roads you can take into a game) 6) suspense 7)historical references maybe...

i think that the history line is the best coz you can have a gfame wift got grafict good caracters and all that thinkbut is the stori line is bad say goodbye to the game coz it sucks

For me it is devenatly the storyline. It keeps you hooked to playing the game. If there is no development a game gets boring after a while.

i think its about story line and id say "quests" i mean, u can have a game and go through it and be done with it....i say BORING to that, i like side quests, things u can do that take u away from the main quest but still entertain. for example, if you've played Sword of Mana, theres so many side quests, in every town there are quests to get some extra cash and other side quests like getting all the spirits and such. of course graphics matter but its minimal, i wud still play a game on the first nintendo (old big grey ugly thing ;P) it doesnt make character look like real people but its still visible, anyway. thats wat i think makes a good game.
