Sure, core gameplay that's engaging is important, and stunning graphics always make a game more appealing, but the crucial ingredient in a successful game is ultimately a well-written storyline. Without an intriguing background, character development, plot twists, and so on, there's no satisfying reason to continue playing. Conversely, a fantastic storyline can force gamers to see what happens next in even otherwise unremarkable games, while serving as the framework that ties together a masterpiece.

I would say the graphics and the story line. Cause the story line makes people want the game. The graphics make you like the game even more. So that is what I think makes a game good.:s

I think a good game need all those elements, it just which one are more important than the other. For me the first most important thing is the story and then followed by graphics and then, the other stuff.

Its not really just one factor, its a lot. But, storyline and gameplay are best. First leads to addiction and second reels you in the first place

innovation makes a good game. it has to be distinct and stray away from the rest of the games of its genre. that's what makes it memorable. innovation factors into gameplay, characters, and storyline. graphics should be up to par.. and whether or not a game is hard or easy is subjective

I'd say it's a little bit of everything, with more emphasis on gameplay and difficulty. Plot is also important, depending on the genre. Sadly, a lot more people are putting an emphasis on graphics today. I think the sound is still more important, really, and it's not even a key piece.EDIT: oh, replayability, also a big one, of course

I think Graphics come first. I mean, before you buy a game, you'd look at the front cover or look at a few screenshots from Google. Maybe not for all people, but for me, my eyes would hurt if I had to look and play a game with poor graphics. Next would definitely be storyline.

its the thrill and playability on top! graphics impresses only to some extent, if you can't enjoy the game graphics or sound becomes useless.

Definitely the storyline. The difficulty and the amount of challenges it gives is also what makes a game good. I'm not really into graphics so that really bother me. As long as I can recognise what that thing there is, it's all good.

i think the most important thing is the storyline... XD when i played final fantasy 7 O-o... i was like... woah XD "nice graphics.......(not)" but it was really the storyline that pulled me in easily and i didnt care about the graphics anymore XD i just wanted to know what happens next desperatly XD. All the stuff in the poll are important but i think the storyline is the most important

What do you think makes a game good? There are lots of reasons that make a game good , do you like certain things in a game , or do like everything to mix up in one good thing , like if the gameplay is good but the graphics are between medium and bad would you say that it is a good game or would you just play it when you are bored, i think this poll depends on the tastes of the players. so we'll see the results.

The first thing I notice about a game is its graphics. Once I'm happy with those, I see if I like the characters and story. Then, I see if the gameplay is fine. If all those things add up, I have a game I like. To me, if a game's graphics aren't reasonable, I usually can't play through a game.
