This may sound a bit stupid, but i need help!

I'm a bit new to photoshop, got it today. But uh.... i made a background gradient that looks like a circle fing... then, i make a new layer... but i cant figure out how to put a picture in the new layer <_< Help please?Thanks ---- Emdudemanguyperson

well, you have a few choices:1) you can drag the picture into the picture you're making if it's in a different document(automatically putting it in a different layer)2) simply draw in the new layer if you're trying to make your own picture on top of this(it MAY be locked)3) make a selection around a piece of a picture you'd like to import and drag it in, this works the same way as option 1 and will create a new layer

Still dosent work, has it anything to do with the image i want in is jpeg?
